Powerscaling
This one bothered me for a LONG time. Recently discussed here

I'm assuming his tier comes from scaling to Thor because it takes two casual hits from him, but doesn't he completely overpower its beam and no-sell an explosion with ZERO harm that The Destroyer was rendered inoperable by? Its scaling to Thor doesn't seem very solid, considering how he easily defeated it and was unharmed by an attack that damaged it.

If we remove its scaling to Thor, the other justifications on its profile warrant 8-A upscaling from Loki, Sif and the Warriors Three.
Far stronger than the combined might of Sif and the Warriors Three. A weaker weapon reverse-engineered from its remains was able to harm Loki
But Kevin Fiege did say that the Destroyer's energy beam is 100 000 times more powerful than Iron Man's repulsor rays (presumably Mark 6, the most current armour at the time), so it should be well into 7-B (171 tons multiplied by 100 000 is 17.1 megatons). Though we'd have to disregard it being stated to be a physical threat great enough to challenge Thor FRA

So yeah, The Destroyer would get downgraded to 7-B, and the only characters who scale to it are Thor (who really doesn't need it) and Volstagg (only for his durability)

Why would it scale to the charged version to the repulsor rays and not the normal version of the repulsor rays, which are 171 tons of tnt

That was what Lacku brought up in the thread, so that's what I put here. I'll change it
Could Volstagg's Durability Downscale from the Destroyer since he:
• got backhanded and thrown into a car by it.
• got hit by its energy beam as he was getting up (after he was launched inside the diner by an energy beam shot at the ground in front of him) and got launched outside the diner into a wall (while on fire for a few moments).

No. He was badly wounded by the attacks.

He looks fine in these scenes, and this was just right after Thor beheaded the Destroyer and flew off with Jane to the Bifrost circle.

Sequence of events:

• Got hit in the face/head by the Destroyer, and was still conscious and cognizant, just needed support to walk.

• Got launched into a diner by a beam explosion, and managed to stand up by himself.

• Got hit by a beam, caught on fire, launched outside the diner into a wall, just needed support to walk.

• Near the end of Thor's fight with the Destroyer, Volstagg was already fine and standing by himself.

Hmmmmm

Would this bring any inconsistencies to the scaling?

I don't think so. IIRC throughout the Thor movies, Volstagg was only ever harmed by a Frost Giant freezing his arm (Thor 1), the Destroyer (Thor 1), and killed by Hela (Thor 3).

Most of his feats in Thor 2 consist of him fighting alien raiders and escaped prisoners, and getting dog piled by Asgardian soldiers.

And his Durability being higher wouldn't change much since Asgardian weapons, ranging from daggers to swords and spears, were able to harm the likes of Thor, Kurse, Hela, etc.

So in universe, training with weapons would still be harmful to him, and any Asgardian with a weapon could potentially kill him.

Svelte ~ adjective ~ slender and elegant
Truly one of the most that Asgard ever produced.

Discussed this briefly in the MCU Phase 5 Thread, but I found this statement that The Destroyer is Odin's most powerful weapon, though the movie still blatantly shows it as inferior to Thor and Mjolnir. Either the statement gets scraped due to inaccuracy/potential scaling problems or The Destroyer gets sth like this:
I'm more in favor of the statement getting scrapped if it does not match up to the primary source material.
