Defining what prep time actually means

In regards to VS Matches and the like prep is used as a completely nebulous term that its up to the user to figure out. My goal here it to at least make basic overviews of different levels of prep. As an arbitrary example:
Minor Prep: The character(s) are given an rough understanding of the powers the other character has, but does not know the extent of those powers or the personality of the other character

Major Prep: The character(s) are given a complete overview of the abilities the other character has, the extent of those powers and what their personality is like but is not given any time before the fight to create any gear

Full Prep: The character(s) are given a complete overview of the abilities the other character has, the extent of those powers and what their personality is like and has at least one full hour with their standard gear to prepare for the fight

The point of this thread is to mostly define what something like "Both characters have one hour of prep" is and what that actually means in a fight.

I believe currently prep time refers to time to use Preparation what this allows is iffy as SBA states the fighters appear and learn what their enemy look like as soon as the fight starts you seem to be referring to prior knowledge.

Exactly. Its a undefined term and prep time itself can vary heavily from person to person.

It being defined in some capacity just makes it easier to use.

Not really it varies from character to character and it isn't uncommon for characters to have a tier with prep time referring to Preparation it would basically just be saying how it works with SBA and telling you the read the preparation ability and character profile. Hell the thing you described is rather consistently described as prior knowledge.
