The Pitbull can still fight even with its eyes gouged out. That, and Pitbulls are far more agile than Chimps.PowerScalingIsFun7 said:Chimp solos because they're smarter and immediately go for vital areas like the face/eyes/ears/etc. Also Chimps are ridiculously more agile than a pitbull and much more dexterous (having hands to grip/throw is a massive advantage). Also Chimps are incredibly strong, 5-10x more than an average adult male.
Agreed. Also Pitbulls were bred to fight, and their bite could hold bulls. That statistic is completely overblown. It would apply better to a gorilla, and even then that's pushing it.PowerScalingIsFun7 said:Chimp solos because they're smarter and immediately go for vital areas like the face/eyes/ears/etc. Also Chimps are ridiculously more agile than a pitbull and much more dexterous (having hands to grip/throw is a massive advantage). Nope, chimp strength in recent studies has been determined to only be about 1.5-2 times greater than humans. And even then, that was pound for pound strength, not absolute strength. Remember, chimps tend to be quite a bit smaller than humans. Their main danger comes from their ferocity and extremely dangerous teeth, but a pitbull easily has those covered.CCFB said:Nah Gorilla's are comfortably that if Orangutan's are around it. Chimps are more like 2x-3x though
People here seem to be forgetting than Travis was a unnaturally large chimp, at about 91 kg(200 pounds), due to being home grown. A large male chimp in the wild might get to be 70 kg. So if we're comparing NATURAL max growth, then I'd like to see even the biggest, hardiest male chimp try to kill a 170 pound monster like Hulk, the biggest pitbull in the world. Pitbulls are like the Punisher of the animal kingdom, they can dish out punishment and tank even more. Hell, they can survive, stabs and heavy blunt weapon strikes.TheSandman31 said:Chimp wins, unless the pitbull could quickly catch the chimp and bite its throat off which is unlikely because of how agile, dextrous, intelligent and agressve chimps are. That plus chimps are strong, stronger than a grown man, pitbulls are strong but not as strong as chimps. There has been cases of chimps ripping each others limb or chimps ripping the limbs of humans.
When chimps turn agressive, they turn into pure ferocious killing machine. When travis the chimp attacked his owner, he didnt seem bothered when she repeatedly hit him with a shovel and doesnt seem physically bothered when she stabbed him several times with a butchers knife
I'm not downplaying chimps, I'm merely being realistic by stating an average that I've observed in various recent articles and studies.CCFB said:I would say more like 2x at least for a male. You're downplaying Chimps too much, they do things an average human simply can't easily. Travis was a morbidly obese Chimp that never exercised in his life or even went outside and was drugged up but had enough strength to maul an adult woman, not care about being hit with a shovel and stabbed, smash a window, and break a police door. Think about what a wild large male could do. Chimps actually aren't that small, big males usually get up to 140lbs which is heavier than a Pitbull. Although, a Pitbull is extremely strong in its own right.
