Chainsaw Man discussion thread

well either way Old Age
reacted to the Bang
raised their arm while the finger bullet looked frozen in the air
aged it to dust
talked about being disappointed
pointed to yoru and said bang
before she changed position at all

either it's timestop, or Old Age is really fast
Wouldn't Aging have to be fast enough to react to Bang to stop time anyway?

We don't know. I still think Aging might just be that fast.
I think it's more to do with time because it fits what's aging is doing, even to the people in it's world, they literally can't die and I think they can't even hurt themselves (considering how they don't even got hungry and such). Their body state is literally frozen in time, they are like Regulus in Re:Zero but stuck with their ability for an eternity

The guy in this chapter said he tried to kill himself, but he couldn't. It seems like they can hurt themselves, but not permanently.

Maybe.

I don't think there's enough proof to say Old Age can stop time. It probably just stopped the Gun Goddess Bullet with telekinesis.

But Yoru is still smiling even after the bullet she was so having fun with was turned to dust.

In that timeframe old age literally: sigh -> having monologue -> touch the bullet and turned it to dust -> having monologue again -> next chapter Yoru still standing there with the same pose -> Old Age "Bang".

Either Old Age has some stupidly fast speed (that would stack several layers of casual blitzing upon layers of casual blitzing on Yoru), that or something it has been doing: Time control.

So, did Pochita turn back into Denji? Did that happen because Pochita took too much damage?

But what about the Give Blood sign? Is Pochita still there on the outside regenerating and only Denji was affected?

Denji wouldn't have a heart, but nobody can die in the Twilight Zone so it wouldn't matter. But also Aging said it'd make both of them grow up, so Pochita should've been targeted too...

I have so many questions.

At this point I think it's just reality warping mumbo jumbo than anything like "energy", like devils are literally concepts themselves and you get rid of them = the concept goes poof.

Dunno how valid this is but I do believe devils aren't born from the humanity fear of a concept but rather the concept itself.

Makima states that "All devils are born with a name and the more that name is feared the more powerful the devil itself is."

So, I think devils are actually physically embodiment of the concept of their names, they aren't born from the fear of that said name/concept rather they just grow stronger cause of it.

Yeah but the guy didn’t know if Aging existed. Maybe it was just less researched 82 years ago but it seems Primals are just a mystery
It was probably just something he casually thought to himself almost subconsciously and never expected that to be enough.
Kinda like how there's probably a milk devil but i wouldn't expect it to have the power to blindside me the moment i accidentaly spill some milk.

Lactose Intolerant people to blame for that devil's strength.

Side Note but- and I'm pretty sure this has already been said before- Katana Man should not have two keys. The reason why he fought Denji evenly before and after Denji's training with Kishibe wasn't because he got stronger too, it's because he was already stronger (faster) than Denji when they first fought, but he was running on fumes after getting mauled by Curse and wrecked by Ghost.

Right after their fight's done, his hybrid form melts off and Katana's like, "Yeah that's it for me today."

Yoshida fans are so ******* funny lmao I saw like 20+ talking as if he had anything to do with this chapter 😭

It's because Yoshida's weirdly got a lot of possible ties to the Twilight Zone, that individually could be coincidences but when looked at together seem like foreshadowing.

Ch 67-
Kishibe: If you're 3rd Rate then that makes me 4th Rate.
Yoshida: Not even a 1st Rate Devil Hunter can be beat aging...

Aquarium Arc-
Yoshida: Teenagers these days carry cellphones?

Early Chainsaw Church Arc-
Yoshida: Would it make us normal students if we skipped classes?

Remember how the donut of destroyed buildings came from the inside of the Yoru volume cover? The inside of the Yoshida volume cover is him standing in a noosed-neck pose, in a very similar hyper-detailed forest as this one.

And finally, Aging complimenting Yoshida, before he vanishes the chapter after where Octopus got offscreened.

All Devils are born with a name, but are all names born with a Devil?
Well, if a Devil get eaten by Pochita, the concept they embodies is also gone with them too, but this doesn't happen upon their death, BUT being in Pochita's stomach is enough.

I have a theory on why: Pochita's stomach either have a special ability that cut the ties of the devil with the world, OR his stomach is a completely different dimension that works as a way to cut the ties of the devil with the world.

Makima said when Pochita eat a devil, their NAME get erases from existence, it has to do with the DEVIL themselves, not Pochita only, he only deletes the devils, not the concept they embodies.

-> Devils likely exists at the same time as concepts themselves exist.

A CRT would probably be needed to renovate the general devil physiology page according to this, along with the other changes which need to be applied, such as dollification, which instead should be transmutation. It's not really a big change, so I believe only one administrative vote would be necessary.

That's up to whoever wants to create the CRT tho.

So, "Garden of Eden", or whatever the heck we're calling it, that Aging creates, are we giving it power nullification or nah? Literally the strongest hax rn in the verse.
