Chainsaw Man discussion thread

This was a great chapter, I'm really interested in this direction.
The criticism of the normalisation of war, violence, and death, very applicable to current happenings. Alongside this is Katana acting as a sort of dark mentor— a sexist older male figure that contrasts with Aki who was a maternal older male figure... Asa was especially good here, a lot of the Yuko arc setup is starting to get payed off, and we get to see Kiga being the Second Horseman To Have Wrong Info About Denji's Contract To The Chainsaw Devil. 7 day wait!

Wait what she said was wrong? Am I missing something?

Both Makima and Kiga made a mistake in their presumptions of the nature of Denji's contract with Pochita.

Denji's contract is not "In exchange for Pochita being Denji's heart, Denji will live a normal life.", it's "In exchange for Pochita being Denji's heart, Denji will show Pochita his dreams."

Anyways my take on this chapter moreso the current arc, I do think everything has been going well so far and most of yall are expecting a little too much, eventually yeah we will get the cool fight scenes which chainsaws and cool acrobatics but the story needs to develop first which in the long run will make the fights all the more better and have developed purpose. I think the prison arc was well done, nothing too exciting but entertaining just the same. From that point on we've learnt much more and the more knowledge we gain in these chapters lead to a larger plot point ahead of us in the story. With that being said I enjoyed this chapter, although it wasn't much you can see it's building/leading to something interesting, a face we haven't seen since the Pseudo Chainsaw Man outbreak, yes Barem, I have held him high for a long time now, and I'm assured that he won't disappoint. The chapter will be next week and I'm excited to see what Fuji has cooking for us.

Edit: This is mainly addressing complaints we had previously

I don't understand what you're saying, Makima is the Control Devil. She has no different forms.
But devils after being erased reincarnate into Hell or Earth, which is how they return. If Makima were the full control devil she wouldn't just immediately be reincarnated as Nayuta right?

Devils after being erased cease to exist and their concept is erased from the past, present, and memory. Makima wasn't erased, she was merely killed.

Devils that die in Hell reincarnate on Earth, Devils that die on Earth reincarnate in Hell. Makima was killed on Earth by Denji and was reborn in Hell, then that new Control Devil died in Hell and was reborn on Earth as Nayuta.

I don't really know what made you think Makima wasn't the Control Devil.

She was erased, after being erased Devils reincarnate, with The Control Devil and the Nuclear Weapons Devil being examples. I just said or meant that Makima wasn't the only part of the Control Devil

Makima was not erased, again, Kishibe's existence refutes this, he remembers her. Denji is not built like that.

I think you really just need to reread the last arc of Part 1.

Devils upon being erased vanish from reality & memory. Nuclear Weapons don't exist, AIDS doesn't exist, WWII doesn't exist, they vanished from the past & present. The whole reason Pochita is the Devil that Devils fear most is because he can erase them, bypassing their reincarnation cycle.

Devils that simply die are the only ones that reincarnate, such as the Bat Devil, Eternity Devil, and Control Devil.

I just said or meant that Makima wasn't the only part of the Control Devil
I still don't know what you mean by that. There is no "part" of the Control Devil, Makima just was the Control Devil.

I'd recommend reading them in the volume releases if you dislike the weekly format. Part 2 feels very much like Fire Punch in terms of the mystery of "What'll Happen Next??", very exciting.

"Omg Sukuna like blew up a portion of a city again, and like Todo's back! Choso also died oh noooo"

Seems like a good chapter after they just saved Denji. Didn't really get that with freeing Gojo... or post Shibuya... idk seems like you just want fights
I like when stuff happens, or when something is leading to something happening. This chapter just took us into our 80th different side plot after focusing on something we actually wanted for half a chapter. At least in JJK stuff that the fans wants to happen actually happens, even if it's not executed in the best way.

Denji has been far from horny in these recent chapters. He's going through it, he just wants his Sushi, and we don't even know if he'll tolerate the brothel suggestion from Katana Man.
It's not that he has been horny, it's that the "Denji likes sex" joke is being played once again in order to divert the story over to something new that was just established instead of actually following through on anything stated previously, AKA going to the sushi restaurant. If Denji declines then that would be some interesting character growth that I would very much appreciate, but lets not pretend that this same thing hasnt happened multiple times before and Denji has chosen horny every single one of those times.

Thing is, it's not. It was only a suggestion by Katana Man, Denji hasn't had a say in it yet, you even admit that he can decline. Right now you assume things are set in stone, when that's far from the case.

And this can be different, especially after everything that has happened.

Your stating what I already stated, what's your point? My point was that besides Asa's moment, nothing of note happened this chapter. Meanwhile in JJK you have an ability that's been hyped up for years finally being explained and utilized, the return of a fan favorite character, and the death of a major character all in one chapter. The two are simply not comparable in this regard.
