This is CSM, the spider devil should realistically be one of the most powerful devils bar primal fears, yet it isn't. The USSR still exists, and Hawaii is its own independent nation.

Fun Fact! The reason why Princi is able to let Makima to descend into Hell, despite that having nothing to do with spiders, is because it's a reference to a short story called The Spider's Thread, where the Buddha lowers a spider's golden thread into the darkness of Hell to give a chance for a criminal to escape, since he did a single good deed of not crushing a spider when he was on Earth.
This is also why Chakravartin in Asura's Wrath takes the form of a golden spider and talks to Asura while Asura's climbing out of Narika (Basically Hell). The more you know!
