Castlevania Discussion Thread: Simon's Quest

Uh... but we do cross scale between various Zelda games where Link defeats Ganondorf. Twilight Princess Link, Ocarina of Time Link, and A Link Between Worlds Link all scale to the same Low 5-B and relativistic ratings via beating Triforce of Power Ganon (Or in the latter's case, a guy who stole Ganons body and power).
Because Twilight Princess and A Link Between Worlds are from the same timeline as Ocarina of Time, it's just that the timeline splits from Ocarina of Time onwards. There is no cross-scaling between Breath of the Wild/Tears of Kingdom's Ganondorf and the one in the previously mentioned games, for example.

I don't think that's a good comparison with the Chaos and Draculas castle stuff, I ain't knowledgeable on the chaos lore for the series but from what Glass says it seems to be the same across the games / universes.

With Ganondorf it's not like the lore around his magic and source of power is the same across his original incarnation and the current one in TOTK, the latter has a different source of power and a completely different form of magical energy from the one in previous game (The original Ganondorf doesn't have weird unholy blood that corrodes physical matter and destroys a person's very life-force for example).

Radio Drama feat and Dracula's Wraith feat are on the page
I saw them but where does it say that the soul was destroyed in the feat with Dracula's Wraith? And does that really mean that all the other creatures of chaos, even the fodder ones, also have the same regen?

I think so too, but there's no statement in the pages that proves that, especially between the main games and the Lord of Shadows games.

Dracula’s wraith is a literal soul, Juste destroyed his soul and he came back in the second phase. How is that hard to understand? Also a random vampire regenerated his soul being destroyed by Magnus in the Drama CD, so yeah the random creatures of chaos has the same type of regeneration when a random nobody can heal from those wounds as well as other creatures of chaos regenerating from their bodies being destroyed in a split second.

Also they do exist across the lords of shadow games, Gabriel literally talks about the roots of evil existing in the hearts of men being what makes him unkillable just like how the darkness within humanity keeping Dracula alive in every other timeline.

Because there is no statement that says it is a soul in the feat of the page? I'm not saying that I don't agree, but just that you shouldn't be surprised if someone who knows nothing about games asks the question.

Okay, but same thing as above, a person who knows nothing about lore will not know that this character is a random vampire so specifying it would have been cool (also aren't vampires superior to other creatures of chaos?)

The concept of Chaos exists in these games too, but who says it's exactly the same as in other games? The fact that they are described in the same way proves nothing in the case of LoS when these games are described as reboots.

The wraith should be very self explanatory, idk what else to tell you other than the fact that Wraiths and Souls are interchangeable in fiction, Castlevania's no exception to this.

Vampires aren't superior to Creatures of chaos in the hierarchy, they just have some unique abilities to them like their paralysis glare and posession with the main ones who do surpass the normal creatures of chaos being unique vampires like Brauner, the Lecarde twins and Carmilla. Death isn't a vampire and he surpasses every single Vampire in Castlevania not named Dracula and he also had his soul and body destroyed by Leon and he still regenerated from that level of destruction.

Word of God telling us they're in the same multiverse sharing the same lore tells us otherwise, and the games back it up when their lores are identical.

Okay

Yes but it's a reboot and a timeline completely separate from all other main and alternative games.

All non canon games are in the same multiverse, We literally have statements in the anniversary collection and from Iga himself that the games that aren't tied to the main timeline still share the same lore and worldview, Lords of Shadow is no exception to this when we have Castlevania Legends have a different history with the Belmonts and Dracula compared to the main timeline.

I know LoS is part of the same multiverse, but that doesn't mean cross-scaling between LoS and other Castlevania games is possible because LoS is a completely different timeline from the others.

This is a similar case to Devil May Cry. The mobile game Peak Combat and the DmC game are from a different timeline than the main games but they are still part of the same multiverse as them. Cross-scaling between Main DMC and PoC DMC is possible because the latter is a what-if (kinda) that takes place between DMC3 and DMC1 (just as it is possible to cross-scaling between the main Castlevania games and other games like Circle of the Moon, Kid Dracula, etc). But cross-scaling between DmC and Main DMC is not possible because DmC is a reboot and is a completely different timeline than the main games (like LoS).

So is Castlevania legends and it’s still in the same Multiverse as the main timeline. You keep saying they’re different timelines but that means nothing with WoG stating they exist in the same multiverse with the same lore.

Pretty sure with the accepted UES we got for Netflix, Juste should physically scale to his magic in season 2.

I think Maria was made? I haven't checked since it's been a hot minute since I've looked at the netflix pages. Plus Lightning's been missing for god knows how long and he was gonna do the abilities revisions for the netflix cast after his stat buffs.

I'm back

I updated the Netflix verse page to have direct links to the Nocturne cast if and when they're made for the main vampires and vampire hunters in the show.

It finally happened

Having rewatched it again, it looks really good visually. Gameplay wise not much to go on but movement looks nice and whipping looks snappy. Def takes place a couple decades after Curse of Darkness given Trevor looks pretty old, I'm assuming the woman used for most of the trailer is his daughter.

I am curious if totally-not-Sonia Belmont (like seriously this has to be Sonia being recanonized into the main timeline) is going to have something akin to Miriam or Shanoa with getting other creatures of chaos' powers if her dark arm is any indication.

Greetings!

Anyone can tell me to how many universes does the 2-C rating of the verse scale to?

Oh, i remember seeing something like that in the Layers Thread far back

I'd like to note that i couldn't quite find this exact information in the explanation blog like "720+ universes" or something that looked like it, so y'all might wanna look into it (or not)

Edit: thanks!

It could but I’m also lowballing it to assume it just has the whole castle and no other realms

I’ve recently started getting into this verse. Before this, I had only watched the Netflix shows, and I’ve been checking out some threads and the blogs lately. My compliments to Glass, I agree with most of his takes, especially regarding the Eclipse as a key narrative milestone for the Netflix series and the feat being legit and not some sort of Environmental D, also agree with how we threat the canonicity of the games, the blog is well done and the scaling easy to follow. I’ve also started playing the games myself. I was just wondering, does Soma scale somewhat above Chaos as the concept or just the manifestation of Dracula's powers? If so, where does Chaos itself scale? Might sound a not so smart question, but I am still not very knowledgeble, and it's not a so random question, since I've been seeing Zelda being mentioned in this thread not so long ago, let's say for a revision thread I might be making it would be useful for me to see how we threat this here. Just like the eclipse feat from the show being considered legit and not an outlier for his narrative nature will be useful as well. But it is also out of interest, this verse is growing into me and I've got this thing of informing myself quite a lot when something catches up my interest like this, also nice to see we have 55s Julius above his 99' counterpart, I've seen many downplaying him by saying he got help in 99' and that he was far from his prime (being the 99 according to them), so that he really wasn't that exceptional, but based on my experience playing it myself Julius is kind of a menace holding back against Soma.

Chaos as a concept is above the entire franchise given all forms of creatures of chaos are small aspects of it. Soma only fought his inner soul version of Chaos that manifested in the castle in the end of Aria.
