I'm going to pick one from my childhood. My first anime barring Sailor Moon.

"This is an anime where the main character is a seemingly average teenage boy, but after confessing to his crush and getting rejected, he becomes inflicted with his family's curse. The curse activates every time he gazes upon the one he is in love with and it transforms him into an angelic phantom thief that steals priceless artifacts. And the only way to break the curse is to win her affections."
 
For those who guess Celestial Method, you're correct. Just that I haven't been around to said it :) (I would give bonus point for that really, since I would expect Sora no Method)

I'll give another clue. The creatures can shapeshift, have elasticity, super strength, speed, and can increase their durability to become as "hard as iron" or bullet resistant.
