So, your verse has been declared heretical, and the Officio Assassinorum has received the go ahead to do whatever it wants about it. Can it assassinate your verse?

Rules:

The Assassinorum will start hidden, though not inaccessible to the verse. For example, in a verse like Hotline Miami they'd start off on some remote island unknown to everyone else to start, but in something like Destiny they'd start off in some distant planet. The Assassinorum has drop pods no matter what, but besides that transportation will also be relative to the verse.

The Assassinorum knows who is notable, and a rough idea of people's powersets, but must figure out anything else like specific applications of powers and locations on their own. Luckily, Vanus Assassins are allowed, despite not having a spot on the profile. (They're like Assassinorum CIA, in a sense). Venenums are also allowed, who are poison specialists. One once killed a thousand people by poisoning chairs for 3 days.

The Assassinorum is free to abuse whatever preparations it can make, and due to them being assassins is in no obligation to sent their operatives into fair fights. This means things like Vindicare range abuse, Callidus shapeshifting and infilitration abuse, drop pod Eversors, etc is allowed. The two temples not on the profile are very good at this.

However, if someone has the means to find the Assassinorum early, then it's tough shit for the Assassinorum.

To reflect how the Assassinorum's operatives are a far more limited resource than imperial guardsmen, assassin number limitations will be put into place. Feel free to suggest alterations, though.

15 Vindicares

10 Calliduses

5 Eversors, at low 5-B

3 Culexuses

Venenums and Vanuses are not allowed to continue operating after all the other Assassin types fail, but shall be present until then in unlimited numbers in a support role.

With it being the Assassinorum, they're probably not going to send them all in at once. Keep that in mind.

Speed equal, unequal, do what you want. Just specify, if its relevant. Feel free to argue for or against verses.

I'll start with my verses. Assume speed equal in my response.

Dark Souls: Likely win. By far the biggest issue is endgame player characters, what with them being basically composite verse, tier 4, and resurrecting. The PCs also have experience with assassins as is, what with how prevalent invasions are and all. However, the issue of a PC can be solved by having a Culexus assassin fight the PC while a Vindicare lies in wait, as the presence of a Culexus should be enough to ensure that the PC dies a final death to the bullet of the Vindicare. However, there are only 3 Culexuses, so if a PC can kill 3 Culexuses, then nothing the Assassinorum can do can really put them down for good, anymore.

Magic: The Gathering: If the Assassinorum has interplanar travel and can start hidden off on some random plane, I honestly don't see them stopping until Nicol Bolas, at the earliest. Tezzeret with his own gear may also survive, but his chances are far shakier than Bolas'. Callidus Assassins work wonders here in killing non precogging planeswalkers, as they should be able to infilitrate say the Gatewatch without too much of an issue, except possibly from Jace Belere due to his mental powers. That's not anything a Vindicare in the right place can't put an end to, though.

Bloodborne: Similar to Dark Souls, except here only a Culexus can really deal with Great Ones. Culexuses can and have fought powerful chaotic entities in canon though, so that should be mostly ok.

Berserk (Verse): Excluding the Idea of Evil, the sheer technology gap pretty much ensures the victory of the Assassinorum here. Idea of Evil is in essence a Berserk Warp God, an entity formed by the gestalt emotions and desires of humanity. In this case, its due to Humanity's need to believe in a reason for bad things happening, as the idea of bad things happening for no reason is just too much for the denizens of the verse to bear. However, its not nearly as strong as Warhammer Warp Gods, and as such a Culexus may be able to deal with it.

Cthulhu Mythos: ƒñö

Darkest Dungeo: The Assassinorum should win out against everything earthbound, even the abomination that sleeps within the planet. Party members fall to subterfuge and being shot from absurdly far away, where Callidus Assassins are free to assume the guise of those they've just killed causing the party to not realize what has happened until it's too late.

Destiny: This one depends largely on the race. Humanity I am uncertain of right now, but its a definite yes if we don't factor in the PC, Rasputin, or Osiris. The Fallen are already dying, and temples Vanus and Venenum should be able to hasten their demise. Once they figure out the Fallen need Ether, it's a loss for the Fallen. The Cabal also should die, excluding Callus himself. They're Destiny's analogue to the Adeptus Astartes, in a sense, and Vanuses can really run wild with Cabal comms tech brought back from the corpses of Cabal soldiers slain by an Eversor or something. Callus himself is another issue entirely, though he is still rather vague as of now. However, the Vex and Hive likely go differently. The Vex are a race of timeline hopping, reality warping robots who are attempting to make their existence a law of reality. Their powers likely aren't going to be stopped by the influence of a Culexus Assassin, and nothing else would have any hope of making a dent in the numbers of a race that can just pull infinite members from pasts, presents, and futures on a whim. The Assassinorum's location would eventually be found, and fall to an endless tide of the machines, assuming the PC doesn't bail them out. The Hive, while finite in number, have such members like Oryx, the Taken King who I feel end up in a similar position as Abaddon did, a foe the Assasssinorum simply cannot overcome. Only a Culexus would even survive his presence or have any hope at inflicting meaningful damage, but Oryx still has billions of years combat experience powers or no powers, and the Culexus still has to get onto the Dreadnaught first to even get the chance. Considering there's only 3 of them and the Dreadnaught is absolutely laden with soldiers and autonomous weapons, that in itself is gonna be quite the task. Consider that Oryx would have screwed over the rest of the verse if not for 6 PCs, including the afformentioned Vex.

Warhammer 40,000: Uhh I guess any operation they've canonically failed at is where they stop lol

Salt and Sanctuary: Again, resurrection is the biggest issue, and one that can be solved by a Culexus working in tandem with someone like an Eversor or Vindicare.

Hotline Miami: The world already ended in a nuclear war from regular human conspiracies way over the heads of any of the protags. Vanus Temple GG

Hollow Knight (Verse): Hilariously, these guys are probably too small to really assassinate. I guess an Eversor just takes a shovel and digs out Hollownest then just pours gasoline on it and lights a fire? Weird scenario to picture tbh. The Assassinorum vs insects

Super Smash Bros.: Depends on whether or not the tier 2s have souls to be obliterated. If yes, I can see the Assassinorum being able to get Culexuses into positions where that one vital touch can happen. If no, that's when they stop. Everyone else dies to a low 5-B Eversor Assassin who has been set loose to run wild through the tier 7 smash roster.

The Legend of Zelda: I don't know. Guess I'll argue about this one with people like Cal and Triforce, if they see this thread.

DOOM: Loses to AP, eventually. Plot Twist: Doomguy was an Eversor Assassin the entire time

Red vs Blue: They don't really have mental powers so the power null is moot, and at least a few of them have been going insane already. Not sure how Meta would handle them, but I think he could probably win (and then die to Low 5-B of course)

Bloodborne: Gonna disagree with you. Pretty sure a Great One could just put 'em in a dream should they become something that needs handling.

Dark Souls: Resurrection into a death unending.

Killing Floor: This is almost sad to consider how everything gets eaten alive.

Monster Hunter: Probably wins since they have no powers aside from biological ones and a large AP gap, but they're gonna go insane so there's that. They can tank Low 5-B though!

Enter the Gungeo: Probably a loss tbh. If they can get their hands on Kaliber, which I suspect they can, then all resurrection may as well be moot.

Absolver (need to make it): Again, probably wins against Absolver. A lot of their abilities come from monk type shit and aside from the PC the minds haven't been the most stable of things.

Dark Cloud: Funnily enough I think Toan lives and Genie dies.

.hack//: Pretty sure any Data Drain user ggs the entire organization. The Low 7-Bs are probably all toast though, but Kite would live.

Dungeons and Dragons: Eventually a god points at them and they die. Lady of Pain probably does so immediately.

Kagerou Project: Literally paste.

Sword Art Online: See above.

OFF: Not sure, OFF is weird.

Warcraft: I mean... if the whole verse is thrown in, eventually one of them just roflstomps with AP alone. The Legion would just infinitely respawn infinite demons and blammo you've got yourself a dead officio.

Discworld: Rip the main cast, but Death and Azrael could probably take them out what with the speed advantage.

Ico (Verse): TRICO NO

The Gamer: (Speed Equal) Given the nature of the verse, they would likely be in some sealed off ID Barrier. Because information in the Abyss travels quickly, they would be found out nigh instantly. And, because they have vastly more AP than the entire verse, deemed an immediate threat. I don't think The Gamer verse has the means to compensate for the large AP gap in its entirety, but they would certainly do a number on them. The best chance they have is to lure them to cause destruction on earth, where Gaea would take care of everyone involved.

Tower of God: (Speed Equal) They have the same issue that The Gamer has. The Assassanorium would be somewhere hidden on a floor. Or perhaps in their own dimensional space, but it's very unlikely that someone like Zahard wouldn't know about them. Issue is, they can't deal with the AP. Luckily, range is less of an issue as traveling between floors is almost always by some special means. And, since the Administrators have such great hax, they would likely take care of the Assassanorium all by themselves. Rankers and most regulars wouldn't be able to touch them without some kind of outstanding hax.

Katekyo Hitman Rebor: (Speed Equal) The Assassanorium would be a mafia family here, and people would definitely know about them. Given how most in the verse can see souls, and how dying will flames can attack disemobodied souls, the soul destruction thing would be unlikely to completely take them off guard so completely. And assassins are nothing new to them, Tsuna's actually fought off one before. It's more the issue of AP. However, I highly doubt a single one of them could get past KHR illusions, and they'd likely make them kill themselves.

Death and Destiny: (Speed Equal) They would be stationed likely in Africa. Issue with Assefa and Sanura, is that we're currently unsure if they're immortal, long lived, etc. But the Assassanorium would take care of a majority of the verse with ease. The largest issue are the gods, who would likely see them as preternaturals and be able to subject them to all their nasty hax. Things like Mind manip, limited fate manip, reality warping, petrification, etc.

Zatch Bell (Speed Equal): The god tiers of this verse actually have the AP advantage, and good range too. The Assassanorium would be seen as a squad of demons here. However, that means they would be given the in verse weakness of being reliant on a book holder to do anything. Assuming that they start with them already knowing, finding, and regrouping with their book holders, and that all their spells allow them to do their canon stuff, Clear can still one shot them from anywhere on the planet with his destruction hax. Kyanchome's brain manipulation hax would come in handy if he could ever actually approach the place. And Brago's gravity hax would flatten the place like a pancake unless they have big time resistance. Issue is that the attacks in Zatch Bell tend to have decent AoE, and being reliant on a book not randomly burning to win a fight gives everyone in the verse a rather large weakness.

Oh yeah, Culexus Assassin's have a ridiculous degree of power null. Haxxing the entire organization at once isn't really gonna work, considering those guys are basically voids to anything supernatural.

Ah, gotcha.

Oddly enough, I'm not sure if that affects any of the verses. High tier KHR illusions are rather resistance to powernull. Death and Destiny gods would likely still be able to reality warp their way out, among other things I'm sure. And Clear Note's power of destruction, I'm not sure if they can negate something that's seemingly conceptual in nature or not. But at some point, Clear or Zatch would unleash a planet busting attack at them. Assuming Clear is in his third form and Zatch has his golem book.

The Gamer verse is most likely to be defeated. Though even the Assassanorium can't get past Gaea's preventative power, which works as a form of fate manip. And the Administrators, I think their pages speak for themselves.

Well, culexuses once blocked off the influence of The Hive Mind to some nids, and their powers scale to how strong their opponent is haxwise (to a point). Less haxxed dudes have a way better chance at fighting them, since their minds aren't passively obliterated. Even if you are 100% unhaxded though, here's what you've gotta deal with with a Culexus:

An opponent who is nearly invisible to things that can normally see invisible things who can shift in and out of reality, passively causes mental agony, and can obliterate the soul with a touch. There's a reason I only allowed 3 of these guys lol.

As for the mafia house thing, that wasn't really what I was talking about with the location stuff. The assassinorum stays the assassinorum, I just included that so they're not totally inaccessible to non spacefaring verses.

Also remember that these guys don't get into fair fights, like ever. Having hax isn't gonna help you when a guy you never knew existed has already shot a durability negsting bullet through your skull from miles away.

Oh, XD.

Folk in The Gamer verse have such an extensive information system that they'd find them and seriously try to kill them. Most in the verse go between the real world and ID barriers through minor reality/space-time manip. But obliterating souls with a touch? Yeah, their only real shot in Gaea's preventative power. Unless they're particularly resistant to hax like life manip, existence erasure, forced subordination, mind manip. Han, Yoohwa, and other unknown characters who got their power from Gaea would have the best chance, assuming they have potent hax.

I guess KHR is much more likely in that case to lose. They have an extensive information gathering network as well, but passive mindhax isn't a thing the majority of the verse can get past. Or obliterating the soul with a touch. KHR illusionists can still trick them into doing some pretty crazy things, but they'd need to identify them first, and have some kind of mind resistance. Luckily, I think Daemon (who's technically dead but meh) and Mukuro should have some kind of mind manip resistance. And I suppose that the Vindice could BFR them to their prison, but that wouldn't do anything. KHR seems like they'll be obliterated as well, just by that.

I think Zatch Bell, Death and Destiny, and Tower of God stuffs stay the same.

You just can't really affect a culexus with supernatural powers, barring a few specific instances as they're like supernatural voids. As a result, ToG admins may run into an issue there. The reason I excluded the vex is because their abilities aren't based on anything that could be considered warp related, but the hax on your guys seems to be. Your best bet to take out a CA is either be haxleee and very, very good at fighting, or catch one off guard with an airstrike or something. Idk why they'd randomly acrue a bunch of verse specific weaknesses, but idk the verse, so yeah. Also just a note, despite being largely tier 8 the assassinorum really isn't treated as fodder in verse. Just in case some of this stuff sounds too ridiculous lol

The Gamer: Well, the verse is implies to be in a shared multiverse with the creators other work, so I don't know. I don't think there is a location where someone wouldn't notice them tough, so they would be attacked almost right away.

After the attack fails and they start killing others, people in the abyss just start working together to kill them, at which point I don't think they really win, since Han could heal madness and make everyone a shitload stronger.

The more they win, the more desperate some people would get to kill them, at which point Yoohwa just makes them part of her church and shares her gamer powers and all that. Worse comes to worse the godtiers likely go in themselfs, and they created at the very least the planet, so yeah.

Any supernatural powers? Only because both the Administrators and Death and Destiny gods are like actual gods in that they seem to bypass the resistances of whatever is beneath them (or potentially on the same level as them). It helps that both verses do have relatively haxless guys with immense skill in either CQC, or with a weapon, though Death and Destiny standard guys don't have the AP to even touch them. Unless the human started dropping nukes.

As for Zatch Bell, all their supernatural stuffs come from the demon realm where they send over 100 (or maybe 99) demons to battle for King. For them to be on Earth means they'd be part of that battle.

Nah, lol. There's a lot of ridiculous stuff in fiction. Folk can do a lot more than destroy a soul with a touch in some verses.

Thinking about it now, I wonder how Yhwach would fair here.

Yhwach already got stomped by a Culexus, since all his power is soul based. That is the worst case scenario for fighting a Culexus.

He'd definitely obliterate all the other assassins though.

Their null has some higher dimensional stuff going on with it.

The Magic Circle: The match is pending on this one since one of the two pages up are dummy haxed in weird ways.

Why is everyone focusing so much on the Culexus

Tiers mean little to the Culexus lol.

Wokistan said:

Because he's the haxed one that can actually solo verses. No offense to the others, they're very powerful, but Culexus is the one relevant when we're talking about soloing a higher tiered verse.

Yeah but durability negating bullets from a moon away and subterfuge/infilitration

Ironically, the vindicare of the Execution Force was the only one to even come close to assassinating Horus. Everyone else was killed by Spear.

Dura Negging isn't too rare and can be dealt with by other stuff

Being unable to use any of your powers against a void is not something that is common

Not when you don't see it coming, even if the moon shot feat is really weird even t by vindicate standards

Nah but I was more thinking about how the whole aspect of Calliduses operating in a way that makes people not think anything is up would be more relevant considering I specifically said that these aren't standard battles, but I can't expect people to just know how that would work lol

I more meant resisting the Dura Neg and tons of verses having a character that doesn't really care and just sneezes at him

I mean... yes? But not knowing anything is up, again, wouldn't stop a lot of verses. Some just don't care. Culexus is a problem pretty much no matter what.

Minecraft: Ok so, pretend you're at your computer. Then you go into your Minecraft world. Then you see these new mobs who are apparently hyperintelligent and are spawncamping you to death.

You eventually get pissed and set it to peaceful.

Undertale: The Underground gets soloed up until Chara. Chara just stabs them all.

Scribblenauts: Max realizes his notebook doesn't work anymore.

Shit

My Little Pony: Unicorn magic is gone so all they have left are just outmuscleing them. I'm sure Tirek at full power can... blast a few of them?

Persona (Verse): Nyar and Philemon play a game of chess with them for a bit.

Puella Magi Verse: Reality warping witch shit is disabled but I'm sure they'll get danmaku'd to death by Madoka cause that shit homes through space and time in order to kill you.

Or you know, they die to AoC or UKG

Apparently a CA stompd AoC, according to Kal. 2-As should win via 2-A considering ukg's already soulless though.

CAs are bullshit

My CA is better than your CA but both are better than the state

A Californian pariah is born and somehow specs into everything possible in DnD

DM loses via being 10-C, considering it's a DnD GM

shit you're right

but by that logic

Warhammer is all 10-C via being figures, with some only being 11-A since they're just based on words and images

I'm not I accept my status as a 10-C

Tfw you make a profile unusable because you want to make changes, and just do nothing

What ability is this

Information Manipulation (Forestalled the gathering of information to such a degree that such information was unusable; should realistically be able to apply this to other aspects of reality, making even concepts and objects unusable by halting their information)

done

Well I guess you need a ban from this wiki because we don't like the O word around these parts

Down with the bureaucrats 3 week old discussion mod uprising now
