Fight started because Announcer was pissed that the new Twisted Metal competition stole his spotlight while Calypso believed that Battle for Dream Island was simply an inferior cartoony ripoff that copied his show, so they meet with each other in a deadly duel.

Speed is equalized, both are 5-A, and the battle takes place in a destroyed New York City in the year 21XX.
