Bloodlusted protagonists

We already have a thread for the antagonists, so, to paraphrase that thread

The protagonist(s) of your favorite verse have to fight the antagonist(s) of the verse, except the protagonists are bloodlusted and lose things such as overconfidence.

Uh, don't you mean if the protagonists lose stuff like overconfidence, reluctance to kill, ex-machinas, etc?

Dragon Ball changes a whole lot. Goku would kill Frieza on Namek, Cell would never reach his perfect form for several reasons, Goku Black would have been killed in Goku's timeline. Probably creates some elaborate butterfly effect but I cba

He attacked the car first. If bloodlisted, he would have used his stick to whack it instead of lifting it.

Bloodlusted Welkin and Alicia in Valkyria Chronicles?

Alicia kills Welkin at the beginning thinking that he is an Imperial spy, which leads to Isara being killed by Imperial soldiers as Welkin isn't here to accidentally create a distraction.

So the Bruhl town watch gets obliterated because they lack the Edelweiss and can't fight against a tank.

This means that Gallia loses both the tactical genius able to turn the tides of the war, as well as the only person able to fight Selvaria.

In VC3, the missions of the Nameless go similarly (except extra bloodshed) until they meet Dahau for the first time, who sees them as bloodthirsty killers and as such decides that they don't deserve to be spared.

It's almost as bad as the "bloodlusted antagonists" scenario lol

Jonathan beats the shit out of Dio. Joseph instead loses to the Pillar Men in their first encounter. The next parts won't take place due to Kars taking over the world.

So you see, bloodlusted isn't always a good thing.

Valkyria Chronicles already showed that.

Sanura gives into her instinct and incinerates everyone who would bring harm to her. Or inflicts curses on them that have the potential to break their mind. Her fire spirit often wants to rage so she would just let it.

Drake of the 99 Dragons (yes still): Drake has to die twice then soup manipulates everyone and gets the Soul Portal Artefact back

Castlevania: Mathias Cronqvist gets killed before becoming a vampire

Sonic: Sonic goes super and beats the villains

Undertale: the genocide route

How does Joseph lose to the Pillar Men?
