Beyond how the verse define it, finding out how potent a hax can be is not possible (or at least, it shouldn't) if is not based in physical fundaments; any other way to find it is arbitrary.

@Antoniofer : Isn't "Quality" already represented by the ammount of resistance the attack can bypass ? As there is no way of judging the strengh of a soul unless direct statements or feats of resistance have been showcased .

Thats not how this works and you've been here long enough to know that. The verse "not specifying" theyre different is irrelevant when we dont need it specified. The abilities themselves affecting the soul differently and clearly not doing the same thing is plenty enough.

You're pretty much repeating my point on why theyre different. Gonzui absorbs the soul, Reiatsu Crush destroys the soul. Thus, theyre different.

And as said above, you cant scale these 2 different abilities to each other as potency is, once again, applied differently between the 2.

Yes, bypassing resistances would be considered as "quality" at the moment of determinating "hax potency"; but then one have the issue of "what is baseline" level of resistance and such.

As for resisting soul absorption also grants resistance to other forms of soul manipulation, it really depends of how the resistance works, but if it's "resist alterations of one soul" then yes.
