Battle of the bears

Scientists have constructed a special room that is split into two halves; one nice and warm for a Grizzly, the other super cold for a Polar Bear. This is part of an experiment to see which would win between the two. With the room constructed, a Grizzly and a Polar Bear are brought in to fight. Winner gets a fish to eat. Don't worry for those of you are concerned with animal cruelty, the scientists are prepared to stop it as soon as the victor becomes obvious, so there will be no killing, and both will have their wounds treated afterward.

Both the Grizzly and the Polar Bear are at their peak for their kind, and the room is about the size of a backyard.

The only differences I see is that the Grizzly Bear is faster while the Polar Bear is stronger and since that speed is used for movement not fighting as bears tend to grapple, the Polar Bear has the much better advantage. While both can kill heavy prey, the Polar Bear kills Walruses which can be 2,200 pounds to a Moose at 1,500 pounds and they can even kill young Beluga Whales but those were trapped in ice so it's not as impressive.

While I hate to say this I vote polar bear for being stronger and having more experience versus animals in a much higher weight class than wthat grizzlies deal with.

Walruses can weigh in excess of 2 tons tho.
Polar Bear FRA
Not often. Pacific walruses have a weight range of 800 to 1700 kg while Atlantic walruses have an average weight of 900 kg.

Okay, looking at the thread itself, it's pretty clear the Polar Bear would win this. The only problem I see here is the creator of this thread isn't tallying up the votes.

This should have been added long ago, I've just been lazy. I'll add it later today.
