Just because her shields can tank a certain level of AP doesn't mean it can exert that level of AP. Especially since Orihime's known to have massively weaker AP compared to her shields Durability since she lacks killing intent, it's even a point of contention between Tsubaki and Orihime that she can't use him correctly because of it.
