BAN-KAI! Bleach General Discussion

The soul is the Shinigami itself, a soul in bleach is composed of a spiritual body and a spiritual core (alongside some special spiritual organs). So they don’t have like another “soul” separate from their spiritual body. A good way to think of it is look at Ichigo, when Ichigo comes out of his human body, he’s a soul. Shinigami are like if Ichigo was always out of his human body.
But here is the thing, the body of a Shinigamy can't be his Soul based on this logic
[ Reishi Henkan-Ki: Spirit Particle conversion machine. A device to convert Kishi into Reishi. It is used to allow Uryū Ishida, Orihime Inoue, and Yasutora Sado to accompany Ichigo Kurosaki to Soul Society ]

Orihime/Uryu has a Body(converted) and a Soul when she/he goes to the Soul Society/ Hueco Mundo

Because ripping their souls out of their body and severing the chain is hardly positive for their health?

Yes, rather than rip their souls out of their bodies, severing their chain of fate, effectively killing them, Urahara circumvented that. He converted their human selves into their souls with his spirit magic tech. Just because souls in Bleach are different from your preconceived notion of how a soul is doesn’t make them not souls.

That just doesn't make any sense. Did Rukia kill Ichigo destroy his chain of fate when she soul ripped him ? 🤨

Ichigo was a Shinigami at that point, it makes the relationship with his Chain of Fate fundamentally different from Orihime, Chad and Uryu's, who aren't spiritually constructed, but are rather made from Kishi. It's why they needed to have their bodies changed from Kishi to Reishi so they were the same as their Chain of Fate.

What Deceived said pm. We see the difference for ourselves when Orihime’s soul is ripped from her body there’s the chain of fate (as she’s just a human), wherein when Rukia uses the special glove on Ichigo there’s no chain of fate (as he’s a Shinigami and their natural state is to exist as souls detached from physical bodies).

The soul for spiritual characters is in all sense of the words their "body". It acts as their body, functions like a body in almost every way etc etc. Not having a kishi (physical matter) body doesn't disqualify them having a reishi (spiritual matter) body. They're just 2 different types of bodies.

Just gonna leave this here
"Roka had threaded her soul with a large part of Hueco Mundo. When she was about to die from getting her head smashed in, the information she had dispersed in the stones, quartz trees and the palace’s walls regurgitated via her threads, regenerating her body, soul and memories."
