Undyne almost always fights with at least one spear and Asgore would be unlikely to use fire magic against her do to her weakness to them and his kind nature.

it does mentions that Undyne tried to hit him and she couldn't do it, context wise, I doubt that Asgore was using trident or fire magic, he was most likely outclassing her without needing it at all, mainly that he wouldnt use fire against her
