Analog horror discussion thread

It isn’t the taboo themes that displease me. I for one am a fan of series which often tackles issues like that.
I am not saying that is your argument or your thoughts tbh. I said what I said, knowing you meant that you dislike how he portrayed those themes in disrespectful ways.
My problem comes from how those topics are treated in the series, considering the fact that he has acknowledged he writes what he writes almost exclusively to shock people. He isn’t using them in an actually productive way, and rather uses them reductively to just be an ass online.
So? Same with most creators of horror/gore content, they like to shock people. The Terrifier series is made by a guy that wants to shock people with gore as much as possible, that's the entire marketing of his movies.
Not only that, but I’m pretty sure he has a history of creating sexually graphic content online through his artwork? I can’t find the video at this time, but I vividly remember some of his content on his older channels being equally as disrespectful. I just don’t get why we would give it a platform on here in the first place.
We can't really assume his intent on his most controversial stuff he has done is sexual, simply because he has made sexually graphic content before. An author being "Twitter-Cancellable" is not enough grounds to remove their content from this wiki either imo considering we catalog profiles of series made by authors that are immoral like uhhhh Harry Potter or something.

I get that I suppose, even if I don't agree with it. Overall, I just don't like giving him any kind of a platform or credibility on here, especially when he is actively profiting off attention. There's a difference between gore for the sake of a shocking story, and gore for the sake of being demeaning and just an overall asshole. Similarly, there is also a difference between getting "canceled" for some negative or immoral comments online, and people who promote sexually graphic material. And again, I don't have the video on hand, but from what I remember he has a pretty storied history of stuff like this that's coming from a negative place.

Sorry if I sound really stuck up about this by the way. I'm normally pretty fine with most kinds of horror no matter the content, but not only does this series represents its themes insensitively (even by horror standards), but they are an active reflection of the creator to a degree. I get that his work CAN be on the wiki, but I don't think it should.

I just want to emphasize with this point by the way, that I’m not just referring to his series by itself. Urbanspook also sells material that includes his artwork, which, if my memory serves me correct, includes things like the Cory painting. I can maybe understand wanting to make money off of a story with graphic themes, but profiting off of depictions of CSA victims (fictional or otherwise) is a bit ****** imo
