What? You mean the old argument? All I remember is that because Goku said that the universe would be gone if they lost to Kid Buu, people said that Kid Buu must be universal even though Goku 100% meant the universe would be doomed, not that Kid Buu would just one-shot it after killing them.

Taking a quick look around there is an art book that mentions it and an interview with Toriyama for the BoG animanga (Archive link because Kanzenshuu seems to be having issues right now) has him explain that:

"I think you’ll understand if you watch [the movie], but Goku has already absorbed [Super Saiyan] God’s power and made it his own, so there is no need for him to transform into [Super Saiyan] God. Goku basically only thinks of fighting as a sporting match, so borrowing the power of five people isn’t fair, and he resisted doing that; however, it seems his curiosity towards the realm that lay even further beyond him won out."
And there is also the RoF promotional manga made by Toyotaro that seems to show Beyond God.It's overall pretty clearly retconned or Goku and Vegeta just stopped using it in favour of using the transformation but at the time of the movies it was a real thing.

Kaioken + SSJ can’t work because of the minor distortion in Ki SSJ causes, which screws up the control needed for Kaioken. (Also, fillller.)

At least in-continuity with Lord Slug, Pseudo Super Saiyan is genuine "Super Saiyan power".
Saiyan Beyond God is the state of summoning and commanding the power of Super Saiyan God without transforming. Although unnoticed, anytime Goku or Vegeta enter Super Saiyan Blue from a form that is not Super Saiyan God, they are also entering Saiyan Beyond God.

1. super saiyan power is just an excuse from Toei cause the animator forgot to re-colour Goku hair to yellow, so they need some in-universe lore excuse to get away from it, thus super saiyan power is born
2. iirc he used super kaioken in a dead body, with a living body it could kill him, and that is before he gain SSJ2
3. saiyan beyond god, probably Akira want to make SSG unique ritual only, but people start confusing it with his base form, so it disappear into the back alley, no, get Hakai'ed from existence

i know all that, it's still weird to me, transformations kind of went out of hand especially when u enter non canon territory, they'd have a slightly different pigmentation and call it a new form

The DB wiki labels it as partial manifestation (Not as a name but a way to describe this state) We get to see it other times, when characters almost/are going to power up to SSJ, hence "partially manifesting" it. Vegeta even fights Broly for a good bit while using Super Saiyan Power, similar to Goku's instance but he actually transforms (thus the "fully manifested part")

Realistically, Super Saiyan God should be called Saiyan God, and SSJB should be called Super Saiyan God. Whereas Goku being able to use the God form's power his base form doesn't even make sense when SSJG is literally just a Saiyan with God Ki. It would only make sense if the idea was that Goku adapted to the power level the SSJG form has. But that would be some crazy reactive evolution.
