Isn't it supposed that Goku already knew about the technique? Also, the fact that he had to go for the glasses and not just... I don't know... protect his eyes or simply dodge the attack itself, wouldn't that show that he didn't actually dodge the attack and just simply avoided being stunned? (The attack doesn't even do any damage, so obviosly you won't need to dodge it, you will only need to protect your eyes)

I think that going all the way through reaching a spectator's sun glasses to protect your eyes not to be blinded before the light reaches you is a way better feat than just… "protect your eyes" or trying to dodge an omnidirectional light

but remind you, goku already knew about the technique before hand, so he will know what the technique will do.
also previosly in the same tournament, Krillin used a similar technique that requires light...and Goku was unable to dodge it or block his own eyes.

Yeah, Goku countering something he previously couldn't is something pretty common. That's why the phrase of "An attack not affecting him twice" is pretty common in the series. Anyway, why are you trying to downplay the feat so hard?

Well yeah. You are correct in that there’s no circumstance where a dbs character is failing to dodge light. So taiyoken is either fake light which is doubtful in many way, or real light who’s speed varies depending on the user. Although I suppose then you could doubt if og db uses of it were Ls. But that also seems doubtful.

yeah the light speed varying seem just has doubtful, considering that there is no statements of its speed varying (and also, in the anime, Krillin used a enhanced version, the Taioken times 100, and even then, it only intensified the flash, not make it faster)

Goku saying Buu could make the universe go poof, certainly isnt hyperbolic tho, people will say that Goku doesnt know the extent of kid buus destroying capabilities, or that he means the universe is doomed in eventuality. No, I'm talking about before that—when Goku used the Spirit Bomb (Genki-Dama) to gather energy from the entire universe. This is mentioned both in Dragon Ball Super and in official guides. Energy was even gathered from the Other World to destroy Kid Buu.
But yes, you're right that Majin Buu can destroy the universe. It's stated several times in the series itself and in external sources too, including more recent guides that mention it.

People only reject the notion of Manga buu being universal, becouse since decades, it was already agreed upon by the powerscaling community that DBZ manga characters are only solar system level. Many people simply cant fathom the arrival of new ideas, or that their thoughts are outdated, is very diffcult to convince people of the opposite when they have a very ingrained idea that lasted since decades. Is like Galileo who said the Earth was round, not flat, and he received death threats from the church and the general populance

Exactly that. Honestly, people think the Buu Saga should stay at solar system level forever, even though even Fat Buu is a thousand times stronger than the previous saga. There are over four statements about Majin Buu destroying the universe, including the title itself. The Spirit Bomb only reinforces that Majin Buu was a universal threat. That excuse people use saying Majin Buu would take too long to destroy the universe doesn’t hold up anymore... In the series, it’s mentioned that with just a sneeze he could wipe out the macrocosm.
