That's not true it's a mistranslation I think. I think it says something along the lines of "time doesn't matter in the afterlife" or something like that. Also if an amazing CRT like the one I linked was rejected as well as having a discussion rule against this topic, then I have no hope a CRT will convice the staff even though so many people agree with the changes.
I honestly think the viz translations (you are referring to the viz translations) are the wrong one but then again I kinda hate viz for what they did with Zoro's name. I will do a bit more research in this I guess to see which translation is accurate

After doing some more research it seems you are right Goku did say something similar to time doesn't matter in afterlife
Time doesn't matter implies time doesn't exist but time indeed does exist in the afterlife so I guess it would mean time is different in the afterlife, but that's also not true since 7 years in the overworld is the same in the afterlife, I don't know if it's enough evidence to suggest that it's a different space-time.
