Accelerator vs Hell Joe

What's stopping accel from just redirecting the air being absorbed towards him? He can influence air on a planetary scale just by thinking even in this form so I don't see what's stopping him from keeping air from being 'absorbed' unless it's instantaenous.

I was going off in-character but if it's blood lusted then Accel doesn't even wait to ram full speed.

Yeah, I was going off the fact that they are in character as well. Yeah out of character Accel just possibly goes for the kill right away but in character this Accel likes to play around a little although he will get serious right away if he believes he's in danger or gets annoyed, like what happened with Touma.
