About Roland Deschain's guns

Something's been nagging at me.

In The Drawing Of The Three, Roland confirmed that his guns use Winchester .45 ammunition. Only thing is, his guns are repeatedly shown doing damage that no .45 ammo should ever be capable of. Bear with me here:

• In the flashback portion of Wizard and Glass, Susan fires a point blank shot into someone's neck and it takes his entire head off.

• Towards the end of the same novel, Eddie and Susannah use Roland's guns to blast on the Tick-Tock Man from several feet away, and one of the bullets tears off the top of his skull. More than that, it's apparently got momentum to spare, since it's shown punching through electronic equipment after wrecking the top of Tick-Tock's dome.

• In the comic of The Little Sisters Eluria, a close-range shot completely obliterates a slow mutant's head.

• And here...actually, I think this one speaks for itself.

Now my question is this: If we do the logical thing and assume that the sandalwood guns do in fact use Winchester .45 ammo, about how fast would one of those bullets have to be travelling in order to deliver this kind of force? I understand this should probably be brought to the Calc Request thread and I plan on doing that if this one goes nowhere. But even a vague estimate would be worth plenty to me here.
