Is Toei Yugi on the same profile as “Anime” Yugi? I’m asking this because I’m a bit confused, because I’m pretty sure Duel Monsters and the Toei anime aren’t really connected.

While there are differences in events and game rules between the anime and manga, did the anime make Yugi meaningfully different in tier and ability compared to manga Yugi?

I think Toei Dark Yugi is slightly stronger physically than Manga Dark Yugi, Iirc, he actually beat 2 of Kaiba's bodyguards. Other than that, he should be somewhat similar to Manga Yugi.
