7-C Monsters and Men Tournament. Round 1 Match 5. Simon, The Harrowed vs Divine Dragon

So I saw this and I don't really know what to say given that Divine Dragon's fight is very gameplay-based and essentially relies on being able to jump and do lightning reversals. Simon would easily be able to use quickstep to dodge the Divine Dragon's projectile attacks, but he'd be hardpressed to be able to hurt the Dragon without any real manner of negating their Immortality or stunning them with their own lightning.

The Divine Dragon also has some AOEs as well as winds that can really put Simon out of range, and Simon can only dodge its attacks for so long without acrobatics and agility as admirable as Sekiro's.

The pain of not being able to jump

However keep in mind of 2 simple details

1. Quicksilver Bullets were invented specifically to take down opponents that can't be hurt by normal bullets
2. Almost nobody resists bloodtinge damage and since unlike guns, the bow is meant for actually hurting creatures, Simon can probably try to shoot at its eyes or vital spots and try to chip down key places

I'm not sure if verse equalization applies given that beasts don't usually have type 2 immortality, and the Dragon's ability to take punishment from things like Lazulite and Mortal Draw. I'm not saying it wouldn't work, but the Divine Dragon still has some potent Air Manipulation and much better range to keep Simon back (the Divine Dragon has a wind attack that knocks even Sekiro back a hundred meters, and he's a master acrobat with Class G lifting strength, the fall might be bearable but the Divine Dragon uses it quite a lot)

Hundreds of meters vs extended melee + several meters is a really bad look. And on top of that, Simon is blind, while he could fight at the same effectiveness as a regular Hunter regardless, there isn't really any proof Simon could achieve what you're proposing while at a range disadvantage and also while blind.

Wait, we actually consider characters who cover up their eyes blind? Huh, no wonder Djura's aim is kinda shit
Huh I thought there was lore about that, regardless, superior range and longevity for Divine Dragon. I'm obviously biased for my own submission, but even taking Simon's arsenal to their best theoretical limit like his silver bullets acting like mini Mortal-Blades, and his quickstep somewhat being comparable to Sekiro's acrobatics, he still is badly outranged and unable to really deal with the DD always just sending him back, with a fall that would likely hurt for him given Sekiro's uncanny ability to endure long falls compared to other Souls protagonists

Huh I thought there was lore about that
If I recall, blood drunk hunters will have a distinct eye coloration that Amygdala can recognize. Hunters cover up their eyes to hide it from the Amygdala so they don't get taken to the Hunter's Nightmare. Why Simon still covers up his eyes despite already being in the Hunter's Nightmare is unknown
