5-B Star Wars

Bruce, it's better to let the admins edit the profiles, not in a fast rush, but in a slow and accurate edit.

Bruce's proposals regarding this upgrade makes sense.

There is enough evidence that the Infant of Shaa is capable of ripping or destroying an entire planet apart though. Although, there is one single question that comes to mind.

  • In Darkanine's calculation, the result that he got for Coruscant's GBE was 47.37 Zettatons worth of TNT
  • Planet level, or the GBE required to destroy an Earth-like planet starts at 59.44 Zettatons worth of TNT
Thus, the GBE of Coruscant should be used for Darkanine's calculation, and not the kinetic energy of it. As for why this is...

  • Destroying, or reaching the GBE of a planet guarantees that the planet itself has been destroyed, and the parts of the destroyed planet will not form itself back together.
  • Said gravitational binding energy is the energy that must be added to the said planet for that planet to cease being in a gravitationally bound state (meaning the planet isn't going to put itself back together by its own gravity generated by its own mass)
  • The kinetic energy of the feat, where the value obtained was 82.42 Zettatons should not be used for that calculation, as the justification for using the surface escape velocity isn't really there. It's not a situation where an object is being flung from Coruscant's surface, overcoming its gravitational influence, and being flung directly into outer space.
    • In this case, the planet's gravitational influence is gone, as the planet itself has been destroyed.
"Small Planet level+" would be a better choice for this feat.

Lina is correct about the escape velocity issue, sadly, since escape velocity only deals with objects inside the Earth's atmosphere and its gravitational influence.

Regarding the GBE of the planet, however. Assuming 12240km to be its equatorial diameter, its polar diameter should be something like 12200km.

  • Volume of Coruscant (oblate spheroid) = 4/3*pi*6120^2*6100 = 957020605462km┬│, or 9.57020605462e+20 cubic meters.
  • Density = 5510kg/m┬│ (assuming rocky planet with iron core like Earth)
  • Mass = 5.2731835e+24kg.
That should put Coruscant's GBE at

  • (3*(6.67408e-11)*(5.2731835e24)^2)/(5*6120000) = 43.4855855640535367 zettatons of TNT (Small Planet level+)
Bit lower.

However, I think "5-B" could still be applied if it's a general planet busting statement.

The Infant was already known to be a world killer and was said to have destroyed other planets.
The CRT thread does not state that the Infant was said to destroy other planets. It was said to be capable of destroying a planet, particularly Coruscant in this case.

Look into the quotes. There are many more. They talk about its capacity to destroy planets in general.
Don't really see the evidence that this thing destroyed a planet before, unfortunately. Not in the CRT thread, at least.

You mean other then the several statements at the top of the thread claiming it's capable of doing exactly that.

Referring to the statement that "it can destroy/rip apart an entire planet", that planet most likely refers to Coruscant in this case, since it was the only planet that it threatened to destroy in its appearances/statements.

You could literally just open the quote and see it refers to planets in-general. It was also known to have this capability beforehand which is why people were even aware of it being a threat.

We need to determine who will still remain High 6-A, so please, everyone, slow down and let us figure it out.
Darth Plagueis? Palpatine legit states in the Plagueis novel that he would be able to contend with "the best of the Jedi" in combat.

Count Dooku: He would soundly kick Poof's butt. Should be roughly comparable to end of Clone Wars Kenobi.

Any Banite scales to 5-B thanks to that Rule of Two.

I think guys like Thon, Ulic Qel-Droma and Exar Kun could remain High 6-A, but I'm unsure.

Wow comic Yarael looks a lot less completely shit than he did in the movies.

Anyway, if he died doing this, shouldn't it be "At most 5-B" instead of just straight up 5-B? The latter would imply that is the normal level or potency thrown around, while the former suggests it's a cap.

"He saved Coruscant."

"At the price of his own life."

This directly says he died because of the feat, not that he would just have keeled over anyway. If he was weakened, the feat is more impressive, but the comic itself still says doing this killed him. If something later on contradicts this, a scan would be appreciated.
