2 Years Later: A Sonic Frontiers CRT

Lovely to see your face again. How's the kids? The dogs? Nice.

While work for Shadow Generations continues, I'm going to be bringing forth an update on the 2 year anniversary for Sonic Frontiers. Let's get to it!

The Updates
This CRT is entirely dedicated to Cyber Corruption, current page here, but there's still a decent number of changes. Here's the update in a sandbox.

ALL SCANS ARE WITHIN THE SANDBOX ITSELF. Cut me some slack, I'm on mobile. Here are the changes:
  • Split the abilities across 3 tabbers; Corruption, Digitization, and Utilization.
    • Corruption is all of the negative afflictions that one suffers from experiencing Cyber Corruption. It's split between Partial and Full Corruption, each now having gifs to demonstrate.
    • Digitization is now a distinct tabber; the state that Amy, Knuckles, and Tails were forced to undergo by Cyber Space. It, too, has it's own gif.
    • Utilization, which put simply is the abilities pertaining to Cyber Space that the Core Four can actively use in combat within the game.
  • Empathic & Perception Manipulation from forcing Knuckles to experience terrible visions and emotions (added JP dialogue) for Partial Corruption.
  • Corrosion Inducement, as it's implied to be.
  • Non-Existent Physiology (Paradoxical) for the Digitized Trio (Amy, Knuckles, Tails), as well as Sage. This takes a lot of explanation that I think is best suited for looking at directly, since it's a bit wordy. They are nonexistent in these regards:
    • Aspect 1 - Spiritual
    • Aspect 2 - Concept (Type 3)
    • Aspect 4 - Information
  • Soul Erosion for a Digitized state.
  • This one isn't in the sandbox, but I'd like to update Sage's intelligence to note she has all the data in Cyber Space and can parse through it due to all information becoming one within Cyber Space (this scan is currently accepted and on the Cyber Space location page).

Since we're talking about Cyber Corruption, the Ancients' Technology, specifically the Starfall Islands enemies should resist the Nature of Cyber Corruption considering that they can withstand attacks from Sonic whose attacks would infused with the stuff

Yes, absolutely. This is why the Soldiers + Ninja/Tower pages have Cyber Corruption (Nature).

It implies that they can resist it because it's part of their very being.
 
I just want clarification on why would that be nonexistent rather than just being partially in two realms. Because cyberspace is a real place in Sonic, especially since we have an actual nonexistent void with white space and it’s completely different from cyberspace. Even in real life virtual spaces are real, data is a physical phenomena. So I don’t know why cyberspace is being treated as nonexistent especially since the similar dream realms also absolutely are things that have existence.

Both of those are things that exist and are real so why would the realm be nonexistent?

Huh? Cyber Space isn't getting Nonexistent Physiology nor being treated as Nonexistent, the Digitized ghosts are.
 
Dnd and Skyrim both have abilities that do the same thing neither are treated as non existence, you just have limited interaction because you are partially in both places. Sounds exactly the same here.

I don't know about DnD nor Skyrim, but I don't think a whataboutism helps because it isn't just about being torn between dimensions. If that's all you took away, then you're just vastly oversimplifying it and ignoring the statements involving the limiting of their existence in the Real World.

If DnD/Skyrim have more than just "torn between dimensions" then that's up for their lore masters to work on.
 
It limits their existence because they are particularly in two completely different locations. Pretty reasonable they view it as hard to interact with a world and that they aren’t there, when they really aren’t there for the most part. But like the two places they are in very much exist, and the data they are made of very much exist, so how could you have nonexistence when everything about you still absolutely exists.

Because according to the NEP page, "Characters of this nature often exist as something beyond the normal scope of the physical and metaphysical worlds and instead exist as an idea or other unconventional state. "

Amy, Tails, and Knuckles no longer have physical bodies because they were converted into a virtual existence that can't interact with the real world and are limited by it. They exist as their souls after they were converted to Type 2 Information and/or Data, can't interact with the real world (gameplay obviously doesn't respect this).

Hence why they're Paradoxical.

I felt that section of the NPE page was goofy from the first line saying “they exist” like that isn’t already a hilarious contradiction to what the page is supposed to be. But now I see I need to make a crt immediately because that entire section is “despite existing in every sense of the word you will somehow have nonexistence listed anyways”. An idea existence and an unconventional state isn’t nonexistence either why are they under that power.

So carry on for this crt for now. I don’t care about Sonic having it or not, I care that the ability currently has it that you can exist in every sense of the word yet you can still have nonexistence like that isn’t the most moronic and obvious contradiction ever.

Gameplay actually does. Most of the items of Ouranos and other island's are actually from Cyberspace, and only show up because of Sonic's connection. Sage mentions Sonic is walking on thin air in one of the conversations.

Fair enough. I actually had a discussion about this regarding other individuals and we had a back and forth as well.

Apparently there may be an issue with the wording of Type 2 as well, I've seen arguments saying it's inconsistent regarding how "nonexistent" one has to be.

Damn, we're not even done editing all of the profiles for your High 5-A revision and we already have to edit the changes for this and Omega's thread
 
With the approval of 3 admins + Dale, that'd be enough support to apply the changes.
