Hey, sorry to bother you, but I was wondering how the Cthulhu Mythos reevaluation is going? I have written a couple of blogs, one of which is in progress and containing no supporting quotes yet, but I guess I'm wondering if they have anything useful or valid. I'm not planning on starting the CRT...
Well, I still don't know what Aleph 1 really means in terms of powerscaling...
As I understand it, quantum physics is based on Einstein's work, or at least the page I found on Einsteinian physics said that 'all' physics is based on Einsteinian ideas. Whether or not that's relevant to this...
I was asking what the relationship between cardinals and quantum mechanics is because I found that paper that I quoted from confused me. The motive driving the question was that the Mi-Go, of the Cthulhu Mythos, are described as being beyond "Einsteinian Physics," which includes quantum...
Personally, I think the key should be kept with the tier just being unknown. There are plenty of other unknown keys on the wiki (PED Samus comes to mind) and it is technically a form achieved in the movie. We know it would have all of the powers the previous form did save for the titanic size...
I agree that Phazon is a substance first and a weapon second. I don't think having the weapon tag is wrong, though, so long as the profile is clear that the weapons are powered by Phazon and not that Phazon itself is a weapon.
That's true, but there's a bit not said there that matters a lot: the Great Ones all have a dual existence inhabiting both physical and astral forms. Their bodies are still alive, and they may act as anchors to reality, but their astral forms are their "true" forms. Granted, the best evidence...
I have been wondering about this for a while, with the reason I think she qualifies for some type of causality being that even after being killed/having her physical body destroyed, the Hunter (and some enemies) are still able to use the Auger of Ebrietas tool. This tool is said to be a partial...
Hey, I was wondering if there is anything I could do to help with the pending Cthulhu Mythos revision/update? I could do research or find links to use as sources or something. No worries if not, I just want to be helpful if I can.
Oh, it must have been a previous version I remembered. My mistake. But...that should be self-explanatory then, right? According to that, Supreme Archetype>Ultimate Mystery pretty clearly.
I'd say Tardigrades. (aka water bears) They're the only animal we know of that can survive the vacuum of space, can survive atmospheric reentry, can live just about anywhere, can go into stasis when frozen or dried out, and are just all-around badasses. They may not have the same AP as shrimp...
Currently, the wiki has the Supreme Archetype as roughly equivalent to the Ultimate Mystery, or rather kind of as an expression of the Ultimate Mystery. The Ultimate Mystery itself is, essentially, that the Gods/Archetypes/Supreme Archetype view all lower planes of reality as an illusion that...
Yes...it was just a simple question, but I'd already answered it. I wrote 2+ paragraphs laying out my argument for why I thought the way I did, plus a full blog post later. If you were looking for additional reasons or further justification, you didn't make that very clear. I think my argument...
Ok, one: you can't expect me not to think something like that when you clearly posted, then removed, yourself saying "this went well" after deciding you didn't agree with my position. Two: yes, you asked me a question, but you asked with no context and apparently no intent to present any...
Ok, yeah, I kind of forgot about that. Mostly because after talking to Ultima, I decided that I didn't need to pursue anything because revisions were coming anyway. You seem to be ignoring what I say for the most part. I'm not doing a CRT, I'm clearly not pushing my thoughts here, and frankly...
Um, I have no idea what you're talking about. And if you actually read what I typed, I didn't argue the Outer Extension to be Tier-0 (I thought I did when you brought it up because you said I did, but I'm not sure where I'm supposed to have said it. Pretty sure I also would have qualified it...
I wrote this in the other thread, but you seem to fundamentally misunderstand spacetime. For time to be destroyed, it is not sufficient to destroy something so that it doesn't exist; you have to destroy something so that it never existed. The destruction much remove it from the timeline, such...
So, just from my experience, this isn't going to work.
With this, I see a few problems: the various realms of the DB verse are not separate dimensions so much as physical locations. A dead person can travel between the realm of the dead and the living should they have the means to, like flight...
Huh...well, unless it's accounted for in the CRT, I think downgrading DC should wait until something is finished that could possibly affect tiering, potentially significantly. But as I don't trust myself to do anything like that, I'll just stick to observing.
So, I have been doing some reading trying to quantify a statement made about the Cthulhu Mythos, and I've grown a bit...confused. I am looking for some help.
So, the statement is from "The Whisperer in Darkness:"
"The blasphemies which appeared on earth, it was hinted, came from the dark...
I thought long and hard about adding to this dumpster fire...but dammit, I had a question:
Wouldn't said revision, even if it's pretty absolute for the DC multiverse, not affect the tiering of the DC whatever-big-word-verse? I mean, you've got the Retcon company that is superior to the Overvoid...
I assume you're referring to a comment I made on the Lovecraft CRT a little while back?
Well, it's pretty simple in terms of this wiki, more involved when it comes to lore. The wiki part is that all of the explanations for "The Ultimate Mystery" are at least partly based on the revelations...
Bunker busters and high-yield air burst/blast weapons like the MOAB would quite literally vaporize the parts of the titan they hit, and since they're tall with their human pilots near the top, that would be the place that gets hit. Bunker busters would even take care of the Armored Titan. I...
Ok, I definitely won't make a thread then. However, I don't think the extensions and disassociation of Carter is exclusive to him. I would still argue that the passage I quote shows that the Outer Extension still has properties associated with the Ultimate Mystery as of now. Unless I'm missing...
Er...yes? Is there something I misread or overlooked? Is there a different blog other than the explanation page linked on the popular pages tab? If I did, I would be grateful if you could point it out, because I can't find anything that addresses or disproves my argument. I don't disagree though...
So, I think the Cthulhu Mythos tiering is very wrong at the moment. Not necessarily due to bad information, but by misapplying some of it. Right now, the "Ultimate Mystery" is Tier 0. However, the reasons for it being Tier 0 on the explanation page should actually apply to the Extension beyond...
I guess the Ridley thing is a matter of interpretation. To me, it looks like it drops him from the sky, kind of convulsing, tears open his skin, and stops him from finishing the attack he was preparing. But art is subjective.
Fair enough. I don't think the Ridley feat is great, but I also think Ridley should scale pretty high. He has insane durability feats in the Prime games, and while Meta-Ridley would logically be more durable than Ridley, I think Ridley's own endurance and destruction feats compare pretty well...
Hey, sorry to bother you, but I have a quick Cthulhu Mythos question: how important is the aspect of infinite disassociation of archetypes into beings/forms in the lower planes of existence to the tier calculations of the Ultimate Gods/Archetypes/Supreme Archetype?
So, with the power up, I'm pretty sure it's function of her suit but not an "upgrade." Samus's suit doesn't seem to have many hard limits, and so its power is proportional to the pilot's will and intentions. This allows Samus to fight at a wide spectrum, always strong enough to kill most...
I will fully admit lost in the replies and was trying to cover a point that I think actually got covered...? Frankly, it's a bit hard to tell. This thread is getting a bit too hard to follow. I'm not going to tell thread starter what to do, but maybe focusing a bit more narrowly is necessary...
Can I say that I think the star feat is legit but misinterpreted? I don't personally think Samus could freeze an actual, normal-sized star. That doesn't make much sense. But what does make sense is that the ice beam can freeze stars or things with the properties of stars. In a verse where black...
I can definitely understand where that thought comes from, as "Idiot Chaos" is basically always referring to Azathoth. Here, it kind of is referring to Azathoth, but it's done to demonstrate that Azathoth and Nyarlathotep are connected at a base level. Nyarlathotep is Azathoth's messenger and...
Short answer? Yes, it's (most likely) referring to Nyarlathotep. Long answer? Well, let's look at the whole passage instead of just those two lines without context:
This references Nyarlathotep, R'lyeh, and idiot Chaos, the last of which is probably referring to Nyarlathotep, yes. Basically...
