  • Do not DM me, do not bump. I see all messages, I'm just not interested in replying to most of them. Feel free to ask for input, just know you're unlikely to get a response. May be interested in helping work on indie/retro game verses [NOT GACHAS!!!].
Out of curiosity, do you plan to make profiles for Planet Laika sometime in the future?

Don't think so, it's sort of hard to tier and I've forgotten enough that I'd need to go through the story again if I wanted to index it. Next retro game verse I index will probably be Panzer Dragoon, lots of cool stuff in that one.

I see what you mean, the game is pretty abstract in just about everything and the combat is not straightforward or anything, so it would be hard to pin things down. Panzer Dragoon sounds great, I'm not really familiar with them myself, but I've heard their reputation as underrated lost gems.

Yeah, the first two are very good rail shooters, which isn't a genre I'm into but they've got really good music and art. The third might be in my top 5 JRPGs, it's incredible. Amazing worldbuilding, gameplay, writing, even the animations and VA are all top notch
Hello, if you can, input on these two calculations would be appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you for the evaluation. Should I take it you're not interested in the other one?

As for the calc for Ice Age, I will ask to another calc group member else what they think. Also is that calc on the references for common feats page, I didn't see it before doing my own ?

Edit: I revised the second calc like you said.

I don't think it's on common feats, no

Hello could you evaluate this CRT?
Hello friend, Could you evaluate this simple thread please?

Mind taking a look at this thread and especially its counter-arguments?
Hello, I've been thinking about opening this CRT for a long time, can you check it out?
Didn't wanna do a forum post for this so I though i'd ask you since you're a supporter for ULTRAKILL

I kinda thought of updating V1's profile on the standard equipment section with the new weapons(Red Shotgun, Red Nailgun, Red Rocket Launcher, & the Jackhammer[Alt Shotgun]) as of the Full Arsenal update that dropped for ULTRAKILL around 3 weeks ago and what I'm gonna ask is you how should I go about it.
Been thinking about the Gandalf > Andúril > Sauron > Gandalf issue and got a few ideas.

One thing is that it's mentioned that Gandalf the White can briefly manifest as a "guardian angel" in power at dire moments in reference to his power as a Maia. This could have him briefly be stronger than LA Sauron for short bursts but isn't 100% compatible with Gandalf's statement that Third Age Sauron is above him (not outright incompatible since this would be a brief thing).

Another is turning Gandalf into a stonewall with possibly High 3-A durability or with a form of Invincibility up to that level (he was brought back by Eru with increased power and sanctity).

Andúril is outright said to he as deadly as Narsil, is still feared by Sauron, and is said to have had its light restored so a downgrade for the blade isn't something I would argue for.

Ah no worries, I was just commenting since I enjoyed brain storming with you previously.
Hey there, dude. Sorry for the weird question, but, in the end did you play Planet Laika?

Yeah, I quite liked it. Actually wrote a bit of a review, if you're interested.

Incoming wall of text, apologies in advance:

Well, did read your review and actually got me more interested in the game. It did sound pretty fascinating. I was wondering how did it pass unnoticed within my brothers during the PS1 days, given we were big fans of Quintet games in general (we even got Terranigma years later and Grandstream Saga), but it makes sense since it was a Japan only title (which explains why the game itself has swearing which wouldn't fly in the late 90s censors).

In the end I decided to check it out, so ended up watching a playthrough of a couple of hours in. Calling it surreal doesn't even begin to describe it. The premise itself is very, dunno what to call it, surreal as well? "The people of Earth gave their "faces" to the people of Mars in exchange of peace, but then something happened that caused the extinction on Mars, leading to the planet to release a strange energy that brings out painful or dark memories called Evil Energy." It's pretty weird, but incredibly interesting as well and makes a pretty good hook. So does the dog-like designs of the characters, which instead of being stylized or cutesy, are rather uncanny, which only enchances the creepy and incredibly unsettling atmosphere.

As you mentioned in your review, the visuals and art direction of the game is incredibly good and feels unique, mostly due to the setting and how it manages to be scary without using horror elements, simply being strange and feeling not quite right (the great and unsettling music helps a lot). And despite quickly meeting other people that act friendly towards you, the strange events and how natural they consider them just enhance this strange feeling that the game is otherwordly. No wonder it also labelled as horror. I was a bit surprised it's considered an RPG, given item collecting and especially combat seem more like a compromise, it's pretty clear that it was the story and moving through the characters what was truly important for the creators.

It is a very unique experience, imho.
