What can Maki really do if Kurapika just uses Ren on her. She doesn’t seem to resist anything it does.

Doesn't require any resistance, Kurapika's Ren isn't some busted fear hax or para. Maki's actively fighting around and against curses and Sukuna with fear and para auras, Kurapika's Ren is gonna be useless here.

I'm a bit either way on it, probably won't argue much though.

I see Maki winning given her better senses and SSK being a one shot. She's not the better fighter but honestly if she closes the distance which she can very quickly, it'll be hard to not get hit by SSK.

If Kurapika goes into it ready to use his chains, then they should be imperceptible to Maki with it or at least harder to sense especially with him conjuring them when he wants and he should be able to wrap them around her and at that point he's got her. Additionally in SE he'd activate En realizing he can't sense Maki normally and that should give him a better chance at catching her.

Even bcharacters who specialize seeing things that can come across transparent/ invisible was tricked/ couldn’t fully see kurapika chains
 
Judgment Chain might be too much for Maki, not sure how she would get passed it if he set some weird ahh rule.

Well it’s true curse energy usually make you see invisible things normal people can’t see, however when have maki or gojo saw something that with an additional invisibility or stealthiness like hxh , I know they usually see very small details in things but not exactly like kurapika or other nen users who stealth themselves with their ability/ or completely make transparent

It could go either way for me. But, if I'm allowed to count the difference in gravity since the fight takes place in Heavens Arena, then I'd lean towards Kurapika.

Why exactly? I don’t believe Kurapika ever went here but I could change it, if it gives an unfair advantage.

Yeah, I guess I should've been more clear. Sorry.

I meant the literal gravity of that location. Since HXH's world is SO MUCH larger, they'd have a much higher level of gravity that I doubt Maki can adjust to; she'd be fighting in an area where everything is like 10x heavier. In a opposite location though, it'd be Kurapika being faster, probably stronger and tougher etc. But, that's if those parameters are counted in this fight.

Otherwise, I see it as 50/50. In my opinion, Maki is has better combat capabilities, senses and the SSK while Kurapika has all his hax chains and is overall smarter.

I don’t think it works like that, unless shown otherwise or said, we shouldn’t assume the gravity is different it’s still fictional after all.

Gojo can see Dismantle which is an attack made of Cursed Energy that is invisible to even Jujutsu Sorcerers. Only people in the series who can see/react to it are Gojo, Mahoraga (After adapting to it), and Maki IIRC. Yuji, Sukuna, and Gojo can see the Soul which is invisible to Sorcerers.

Tho imo, Maki doesn't really need to see the Chains. Her precog works through perceiving the disturbances in the atmosphere as things move through it. So if the chains travel through air, she will be able to precog it even if unable to see it.

The chains can't be felt on the body, so them disturbing the air is iffy I'd think.

What's the mechanism by which they can't be felt on the body. Are they intangible, or do the senses just not pick them up? If it's the former, it's possible if you can prove the chains aren't affected by air molecules. If it's the latter, then I don't think it matters.

I'd say both, their nen senses is already for nen which is intang and invis and Uvogin couldn't sense the chains due to In. The way Kurapika uses his chains should still trick her even if she can sense them.

Might sound weird to ask, but is their evidence of the intangibility extending to something as small as air molecules? There are Curses who can become intangible as well that I doubt Maki would struggle to sense. And there are levels/extents of intangibility.

Do you think Maki would be able to see the chains if she could see Dismantle and Souls which are layered invisibility?

Different type of invis. Dismantles invis isn't even explained but its just assumed to be another layer of ce invis and Souls invis isn't Nen invis.

Well even if they're a different type, the extent the intangibility works at is important. That's why I was hoping you'd know if it had feats suggesting things even as small as air molecules can't interact with it. If so, then yeah, Maki's not going to be able to pick on it visually or via analytical prediction.

Alright. Then I guess at the very least, Maki could predict where they are/they're coming from accurately. Not really gonna leave a vote. Just wanted to cover this basis since people above seemed confused.
