Arlong vs Soldier Boy

Arlong has way better options it seems. I don’t think Soldier Boy’s power removing thing would work either since all the stuff Arlong does is physiological. I’ll vote Fish

While I don't think Arlongs long range attacks would be a problem (Equal fighters like Luffy have been shown to easily dodge them) the fact that all arlong has to do is get in close and land a successful grab in order to incapacitate whatever body part he grabs seems to be too big an advantage to ignore. Even if Arlong was to begin losing (Since Soldier Boy does have the AP advantage and I still believe him to be the more skilled of the two) there is water nearby on this battlefield which can equal the AP gap and give Arlong the speed advantage which would allow him to pull off more lethal grabs. As it is with water on the battlefield I feel like Arlong takes this 7/10 times. It would be closer to 50/50 if there was no water around. Voting for Arlong.

Soldier Boy's value is basically the amount required to leave a scratch on him. Arlong's is what he scales to with casual physical attacks.

However, Arlong is more versatile, and has a longer range.

Ok, so other than the fact that Arlong scales below the amount required to do any damage to Soldier Boy(remember, Homelander took essentially no damage from that chemical plant explosion), he's got skin that's resistant to piercing and slashing. Plus, he has his shield, which has even better durability than he does. Even if Arlong was just popping out fancy-ass Fishman Karate moves(he's really not especially good at that), Soldier Boy's insides are equally durable. He's got a gun and a knife on his profile too if he loses his shield. He can also shoot out huge AOE radiation blast for tens of meters that can just eradicate people and reduce buildings to charred ruins. And to top it all off? Lil' bit of regen to help him keep going.

Arlong gets stronger underwater, but certainly not enough to overpower Soldier Boy. He gets faster, but that's not enough to net the win. He can throw water really fast, akin to bullets, but his foe is bulletproof. He can also enter a berserker rage, but he's still inferior. His LS is superior, but grapples are dangerous against a guy that can, as mentioned before, do a crazy AOE blast while emitting significant heat merely by charging. His nose is durable, and his sword is sharp, but neither is infallible, and he's between a rock and a hard place here, I fail to see what he can do.

Bump

Also, I wanted to address the fact that SB's blasts leave him pretty vulnerable, as I don't think he can even wield his shield while charging (the only time he had to was against Homelander's and Butcher's heat vision, where he stopped the charge in order to block them)

The fact that a live action adaptation of a comic can actually give a shonen series even early on a good fight is telling.
