Honkai: Star Rail Discussion Thread

Random guy? He's literally the teacher of May_Alter

Not saying this to you in particular but it's a bit crazy that things crucial to the verse are being discussed that extensively offsite when they'd normally be handled in a CRT giving everyone a chance to review and participate. Not a fan of this gatekeeping. It's very weird and makes me raise an eyebrow on how things are being processed.

Whoever this person is, if they are banned from the wiki, it's probably for a good reason. Once their ban expires they can defend their position 🤷‍♀️
I understand your issue but there's literally no way to have a discussion on-site with this dude while he's banned. I also think posting screenshots of what he's saying is bannable because it gives him a voice on the wiki.

I am not in direct contact with him myself, but he knows what he's talking about and is able to argue around the specificities of higher tiers very well.
If the root is inconsistent in HSR compared to Nasuverse, it'd be much smarter to try make a CRT from what HSR defines the Root as and go from there.

I do not believe we've interacted before on VSBW, I used to linger and lurk hi3 and just see what was happening before I got involved a few months ago.

I could be forgetting something though. Potentially on Discord. My username there is the same as here.
I see, a pleasure to make your acquaintance then.
Same with my Discord.

Be serious for a sec. Do you WANT to make a CRT, say the Root somehow gets accepted, just for it to be downgraded days later with the JP translation?

There's no point going for something if there's a very clear obvious way for it to be debunked.
And you can be upset the convo isn't happening onsite, but people have gcs and servers for storing scans. Of course conversation will happen there. Coordination is important.

How would I know and have an opinion on it if I can't see the conversation and arguments in first place?

It's actually pretty common for different fandoms to have their own discord servers dedicated to VSBW scans and future CRT discussion, so it's kinda normal for people to talk about important CRT content offsite.
Not even kinda normal, ts is literally the unanimous standard, what's even going on in this discussion for this to be mentioned like it's of any relevance? Lol

Whatever the case might be, info and the essence of whatever was discussed should be communicated to others in the community.

I can too if need be. The issue is that differences between languages exist are ever prevalent. So I am not sure why we are to discard one unless it's the majority
Usually for Nasuverse, JP raws are the #1 priority but I honestly don't get in what part that its inconsistent (I mean from the Root and Origin explanation in English, it seems consistent to me) but yeah

I don't necessarily disagree, but still, I'd say it's not that crazy that people are discussing offsite. It's also pretty normal for these offsite discussions to partially be done to get insight from people who may not necessarily be on the Forum for one reason for another.
It's also helpful to note that no matter how many convo's are held in any number of places, it will ultimately come down to a CRT on the Forum.

As far as I know, those writers aren't involved in the quests. So does japanese matter? Especially if we are basing the rest of the game on chinese and english?

No, because Shaoji didn't write it, it was Kinoko Nasu himself which is why I'm shocked if there's any inconsistencies (given it seems consistent enough to me from the Root & Origin explanation given by Castorice earlier)

As far as I know he acted as a supervisor towards the characterization of his characters. Not the plot and their introduction.

In fact that's a direct quote from his interview. At least for part one. Not sure if he had a bigger involvement in part 2. If he didn't, I see no reason that the language we aren't using in this verse should weigh more.

We all know why bro wasn't invited

On another note, that scene with Castorice livestreaming in the collab or whatever, was genuinely adorable ateast in JP
