Anyway, ignoring that, what's the best way you all recommend for getting into Re:Zero? The anime? The light novels? The web novel? Something else?

I'd always recommend the novels first and foremost. But I would never say you shouldn't watch the anime. Don't bother with the manga. Here's a link to Witch Cult Translations and to the Re:Zero Database.

I've heard the official translation of novels is... subpar. Is that true?

Rather than having the issue where it feels hard to read, it has an issue of making glaring mistranslations that pretty much anyone familiar with the work (like the translator and editor) should catch. You can refer to this resource which neatly orders mistranslations by volume and severity.
I would personally recommend the light novel for the first 20 or so volumes before switching to Witch Cult Translations for the web novel. The light and web novels have only minor differences, and the web novel tends to "retcon" itself to match the light novel anyway. Plus the official translations are currently at 28 out of 44 volumes, so yeah.

Garou vs Reinhard Rules; Equalized speed Garou is in his Cosmic Fear Mode Key. Both characters start 10 meters apart. Garou is trying to kill the hero and Reinhard wants to test the strength slightly, but exterminating Garou is his job. Some people just love to watch the world burn 🔥

I don't think it's because of AD?
It should just be a key in Volcanica's or Aldebaran's profile rather than a seperate page imo.

Discussed this a while ago, based on the wiki's conventions Alter fits the bill for a new page. It's neither truly Aldebaran anymore due to the dragonhusk's influence, and it obviously isn't Volcanica either.

The anime mistranslated it, but it was explained in the same scene as when Beatrice told Subaru about the Witch of Envy, in episode 8 or 9.
Emilia was trying to scare Subaru from getting involved with the politics of the Royal Selection by seeming crazy enough to call herself by the Witch's name.

I think Roy and Rye should get one of the heads of black snake as a creature they can summon as optional equipment. It travels via shadow so they can just summon it via shadows if they want?
