Shinobi Undercover Discussion Thread

Really good chapter for more character growth. Current Mission? Save Yoichi

Also some extra justification for Yodaka skill and some nice squad combinations
 
Shinobi came back with a bang

We saved Yoichi, got some more yodaka skill glaze and some killer art
 
So now that Yoichi has been freed, what are we thanking for his character?

Is he joining Squad 9? Is he gonna become the new head?
 
Well then. This arc just took a turn lol. Definitely not what I was expecting

Well I was wondering if Hibari,konoha, Suzume are mid tiers or high tiers since it would be alot easier detailing the power of the verse if I get to know the scaling of these characters in the verse and I plan to add their character profile (too much work for now ,so I will finish it up to tomorrow)as well .

Well before anything else, just cause I don't wanna spoil you on certain characters in the current arc and where the cast should sit if you're not caught up, so how far are you in the manga currently?

I am currently at around chapter 60 and yea I am not caught up with the manga itself.

I will be reading the chapters again myself but as far as I have read. I think konoha should be high tier since he is a fugitive ninja and gave yodaka a tough fight and team 7 as of chapter 60 should be above Hachikuma right?
So mid tiers should scale building to large building with transonic speed with Suzume's statement
But I will read up to the latest chapters aswell.

Oh ok, cool, for those 3 characters I can give you a general breakdown without too many spoilers (from what you've read so far)

I will preface beforehand that Shinobi Tiers are very loose. There's levels to the the tiering and just cause you're say, a mid tier, doesn't mean you'll always be able to fight it out with another mid tier and be a super close fight

On the other hand, a mid tier could do well against a high tier for example if they have the right matchup (Kekkai/Ninpo), so it's somewhat context sensitive

The High Tiers: Yodaka, Hojiro, Hayabusa, Inuwashi (hypothetically), Kawasemi (Red Mode Only), Konoha (Primal Kekkai only), Mimizuku, and Karasu

The Mid Tiers: Konoha (Base), Mukudori, Suzume, Hibari, Umineko, Tobi, Tsubame (maybe, he's always been kinda weird scaling wise), Buncho, Hachikuma, Ban

Then there's the rest that are either:

A: Don't have enough feats to comment on

B: Are likely never gonna get/need profiles

C: The rest of the ninja that don't matter to the scale

Thanks and I just realized that Kohona dodging the arrow calc is outdated and now there is a new formula for it. I think I should try to recalc it if I have the time .I have to go now. (Way past bed time in my country)

Sounds good to me. Any work you end up doing is always appreciated.

I'll be doing a re-read sometime soon to try and see if I missed any decent feats and once you catch up, we can discuss how the current arc (the one you're about to be getting into) is gonna shake things up scaling wise

I somehow missed you made a whole other comment, whoops

As for this, I make the distinction for Konoha and where he sits. Regular Konaha is around a mid tier cause while he's above characters like Umineko and Hibari in that arc, when he fought a high tier like Hayabusa he wasn't nearly as well off

For example: Yodaka tanked many electrical charges from Hayabusa in their fight and was able to keep fighting, meanwhile Konoha said he would've died from a direct hit if he didnt redirect Hayabusa's electricity

Another example: Yodaka took a direct hit from Empyrean Arrow after taking a lot of damage from Hayabusa's charges and such and was able to get up, keep fighting, and beat Hayabusa, meanwhile Konoha didn't take a direct hit from Empyrean Arrow and was kneeled over on the ground bleeding profusely, claiming he needed to stop the bleeding with his Kekkai

Stuff like that demonstrates to me he shouldn't be in the same zone as the high tiers. When he has Primal Kekkai tho? The he jumps up to a high tier. He's able to down both Hayabusa and Mukudori with his Green Cascade, his power with his water droplets increased immensely, he was able to hold off 3 High Tiers for a bit (This is still somewhat context based as they were either all injured or tired at that point). Yea, that's how I feel about that

Just as of chapter 60? Hard to say. This is before they get what I think is a big boost in the current arc, and Hachikuma just has the unfortunate case of running into Yodaka very early, so he can just feel like smaller potatoes because of it, but the guy has the 3rd strongest feat currently alongside and if he was ever brought back to go against any other Squad 9 member, I dont think they'd just win with ease against him

That would be correct. I'll be going through again to see if I can try and find other speed feats

I have to check it out since I currently stuck reading lookism and killer peter. But I have had the time to make a profile for yodaka. I still have yet to explain stuff. I just wrote what I know from all the information I know about this verse.Here is the profile and I am still trying to improve it.

Nice nice, good foundation. Immediate things we can touch up on for the future

1: If we give him seperate keys, it should be Pre Mimizuku Training and Post Mimizuku Training as that's when he starts to gain certain moves and mental tactics that he didn't have before

2: I suggest we implore the "Varies" rating for Yodaka to reflect how his mental state effects him in a battle. Bare minimum, he'll always scale above Hibari, so that can be his baseline and then it'll just be "Varies from (insert level) to (Insert level) with (explanation)

The rest we can work out when you're free. Once again, I appreciate the work you're putting in 🙏
 
Shinobi Ranked 6th and is getting a color page next week (not the chapter coming this Sunday, the one after that)
 
RIP Yoichi. You were a real one to protect Yodaka to the very end. Same to OP. Hopefully this Culture Festival really pushes Yodaka forward more than ever to get stronger to protect Aoi
 
Something I definitely have to try and look for is LS feats now that I think about it. Those are the only types that haven't been calced.

I have a few possible ideas for some at least

Yodaka starting to.grown even more and appreciate what he has

Inuwashi return 🙌 I was discussing with some people how I wanted him to come back soon since he just showed up around the 20's and just never felt like he was gonna get expanded on soon

He's an ice user too so.he gets bonus cool (ha) points
 
Chapter 25 has 2 possible LS feats

Hibari being able to withstand Kawasemi's downward strike which breaks up the ground

Yodaka's dash making a crater in the ground

I do hope the series reaches mid end Town level stuff, I wanna make matches between SU and Mashle characters.

If its needed, I could make a few profiles. Characters are mainly stat bricks so abilities aren't a problem, just need good renders and all that.
