idk how fair or unfair this is gonna be but i thought it sounded neat and uhhhhh we have funny ether shenanigans now thanks to the recent CRT so let's see how this goes

  • Makima is aware of Yixuan's status as Grandmaster and the High Preceptor Master of Yunkui Summit

The Control Devil :
Notes :
  • Yixuan is over 19x stronger than Makima physically, and a little under 2x stronger with 1,000 Years Usage
  • Makima is about 2.4x stronger with Telekinesis, and has far, far superior LS
  • Yixuan can amplify her reaction/perception speed with Vital View
  • Makima has far superior range with Telekinesis, as well as having better stamina
  • Notable Yixuan abilities include Illusion Creation, Perception Manipulation, Sleep Manipulation, Purification, and Power Nullification (plus a gazillion others)
  • Notable Makima abilities include Damage Transferral/Limited Resurrection, BFR, Up to High-Mid Regeneration, Clairvoyance, and Intangibility (plus a gazillion others)

Anyway I dont think her power null is gonna work on Makima
i assume that's just because of the general nature of how contracts work right? would the power null just not be able to shut down the specific abilities of said contracts rather than just blocking them altogether?

The thing about matchups with Makima is that it is either a stomp or a stomp, so it is kind of hard to find fair and interesting matches for her. Because Makima's defense is her contract and without it, she is usually fighting someone who is 3-A and can one shot her into oblivion. I do not think Yixuan has a way to bypass Makima's contract, but I read through her profile and holy, game characters must dominate this wiki in terms of combat because this is some unbelievably overpowered combat stuff.

Either way though, without a way around the contract, you can pretty much figure Makima would win. I would do an analysis like I usually do, but I do not really think it is worth the effort if she has no valid win con. I guess this is Makima's karma for being oddly overpowered in unfair ways while also being physically weak. But wait until you guys get a piece of Nuclear Yoru. She is probably going to be impossible to make matchups for because she is unkillable and overpowered as ****.

wouldn't completely pulverizing her basically just incap her/negate her contract? given the pretty large strength disparity i feel like yixuan probably could do that, plus she has some larger scale attacks that could probably just completely nuke her

i also figured she might be able to incap with some of ether corruption's effects, namely stuff like the empathetic manip and sleep manip (which i don't think makima resists from what i saw on her profile). though, i'm not sure if ether corruption's side effects would directly count as "attacks with violet intent" towards her. obviously yixuan attacking her would be attacks with violent intent but ether corruption's effects are moreso just a byproduct of said attacks. i'm not really sure if they'd be considered "attacks with violent intent" in that regard because it's kind of just how ether acts naturally. ether corruption doesn't really have an "intent to harm" per say, it kind of just does (idk if that explanation or my thought process makes any sense or not)

It would, but in fiction if you have a significant AP gap, you punch straight through your opponent unless shown otherwise in verse. But regarding corruption, it is something devils already resist, so the effects wouldn't take place to begin with. I can definitely see the vision you had with this match though. We just have to take a deep sigh and hope that one day Fujimoto will make his characters tougher, because we have already seen enough gore in the manga.

i was kinda moreso under the assumption that she'd still be able to get affected by the other negative effects of the corruption, just not the whole etheralization/transmutation stuff (given she does blatantly resist that). although i guess that line of thinking probably makes more sense

it is what it is, maybe i'll just do a pochita MU or something instead

She only resists the bifactors because the corruption causes them. Think of it like this; an opponent has an arrow that poisons you once it is injected. You do not resist poison, but you are invulnerable to arrows, therefore the poison cannot get into your system because it needed to be injected by something you are invulnerable to, if that makes any sense.

yeah that makes sense. the actual effects of the corruption don't matter if she can't be corrupted in the first place. thank you for the clarification 🫡
