Pokemon Discussion Thread - Red & Blue arc

Does anyone know which active Staff members are knowledgeable on Pokemon? I need to ask some to check out my crt.

I don't know if anyone has talked about this yet, but Fennel is a character who brings a lot of weird stuff to the verse:

1. Save files are canon.
2. Munna/Musharna has reality warping that turns dreams into reality.
3. Through this, Fennel created C-Gear, a technology that supposedly transformed several dream worlds into real universes.
4. The main character receives a C-Gear, so would he have reality warping and dimensional travel through it?

Honestly, kinda scary

So, what are Save Files diegetically according to this? She says she'll collect them [Save Files], seemingly as a way to study Pokemon dreams & further the development of the C-Gear so that more kinds of Pokemon can have dreams through Game Sync?

Feel like the concept of calling it 'save files' are just a way to directly help the kids that play the game understand by using actual terms. Its like NPCs mentioning console buttons or saying 'Press B-' to do something for example

Dont really know what the implication for it would be. Think its just synonymous with the trainers 'memory' in canon? Or what their pokemon remembers

Hey btw. How come pages like Alain is listed as only Island level+ despite Ash's page stating he's way higher? (Which he is because he's got one of the higher scalings in the entire M8)

Because of the scaling shifting around constantly nobody has bothered updating the trainer profiles besides a few.

Like, with how the current scaling is accepted, Ash should be 3-C to High 3-A normally.

So the he got downgraded from 1-C?

Ok, I think I found a way to scale the Gen 9 Legendaries to 3-C, possibly High 3-A.

So, basically, you can catch legendary Pokemon from other generations after completing the Indigo Disk. This includes Zekrom, Reshiram, Solgaleo, Lunala, and Necrozma. All these scale to 3-C, possibly High 3-A. This would make anything you fight after that point in the game also 3-C, possibly High 3-A

Unfortunately, by then, you have already completed all the legendary/mythical Pokemon battles... except one: Pecharunt.

Luckily, it is confirmed in the promotional teaser for Mochi Madness that Ogerpon was able to fight and defeat Pecharunt, scaling it (and the Loyal Three) to Pecharunt.

Given that the Player fights Terapagos after defeating Ogerpon (with Kieran even reacting if Ogerpon is used against him), Terapagos should also scale.

As Koraidon/Miraidon can tank a hit from Stellar Terapagos, they should also scale to it. This covers all the legendaries in Gen 9 (and all the trainers after The Way Home), except the Treasures of Ruin, I guess, although the manga implies Miraidon is needed to unseal them somehow, so we'll see how that plays out.

As for the Teal Mask leveling thing, I propose we use the post-The Way Home leveling, as it is the most internally consistent.

Cross scaling legendaries in particular is currently controversial which puts most of those guys ratings into question with no proof that Pecharunt is necessarily after them canonically we probably shouldn't scale, keeping the raidons as the pinnacle of the scaling. Anyway could we scale the Paradox Pokemon to living in an ecosystem with the raidons or to possibly killing a Pokemon World Human in a single blow according to the old books.

It would still be strange to have S/V peak at High 6-A in a game that has tier 3 and possibly even tier 1 Pokemon you can fight (Palkia and Dialga were available in Tera Raids)

Idk how much the promotional Tera Raids (temporary events) count towards a canon interaction.

Aren't they already trained, making the fight unusable?
I suppose so. This still happens even if you never added Koraidon/Miraidon to your party or box and kept it in its low power form, but i'm not sure if that counts as it not being trained.

Still travelled with you and don't you use it to fight Turo?

Idk man, we can argue the same for basically any story legendary that you can add to your party.
My main assumption for this feat was that since it was in a cutscene and did not require you to actually ever add the legendary to your party, it was different. I'm somewhat new to Pokemon scaling though, so it may be a mistake.

ZYGARDE GOES 100% ! AND FIGHTS CHRIS REDFIELD !

Surely theres an actual FTL feat in the games and we dont have to keep relying on secondary media

Games have no feats beyond pokedex entries lmao. The whole point of the current system is for secondary media to support the main media if the main media lacks some part of scaling.

Closest thing I can think of at the top of my head is like Mirror Shot or Flash, though idk if either of them qualify for actual lightspeed on the site (Mirror Shot probably doesn’t after double-checking).

Maybe Pokemon just isnt FTL on average then. Theres gotta be something in all those mainline games otherwise. Stuff like the anime and manga just fundamentally go by their own rules and interpretations

One could say that for literally everything in pokemon because, again, GAMES HAVE NO FEATS beyond like a few visual AP feats and Legendary stuff.
If you want a game feat then there's already the fact that attacks like Solar Beam can be dodged by Pokemon in the games but it isn't visually represented, it is stated. In the modern games a text can come up that says the Pokemon dodged the attack.
The whole point of the anime is to take what we see in the games and apply it in how it would look, shit's so interchangeable the anime literally introduced several new Pokemon well before the games (and invented Lugia) (and leaks say another will be introduced in the anime). Not using anime feats would be a grave mistake.

Most notably actually making certain legendary mons kaijus and many mons in general larger unlike the games where according to the dex, hundreds of real life athletes could lift Wailord with moderate difficulty and I can look down on Charizard.

This is just misinformed. The legendary heights is just visual inconsistency, I think it was somewhere in the Tera Leak that they made them look bigger for coolness effect. In Journeys we see a normal sized Groudon and Kyogre (also in SM).
Then there's the size for normal Pokemon and....have you not been there for the past few gens?? You can literally own different-sized Pokemon, not to mention the existence of the alpha/totem Pokemon. Pokemon just grow large at times.
