While I think that there are genuine criticisms of the site and how we rank certain characters (cough regular ass Ben 10 and Danny Phantom humans, cough Mario being in tier 6 hell, cough everyone and their mother in Marvel somehow being 1-A cough) I think that in these sorts of discussions, people tend to forget that VSBW isn't created by a singular entity meticulously choosing every detail in these profiles, but rather the collective work of thousands of people over the span of a decade and a half, each with their own opinions, takes, and (for better or for worse) agendas.
I seriously doubt any member of the site genuinely believes our profiles to be 100% perfect. With how many members and profiles we have, there is BOUND to be shit that's outdated/inaccurate and disagreement within the community regarding how to fix the outdated/inaccurate stuff. That's just how powerscaling is; no matter what, it's always going to be, to some extent, subjective.
Don't get me wrong, it's funny as hell to see some of these memes without context and to see how batshit insane some of these matchups can be, but to blame the entire site for just a couple of bad examples and outdated profiles is a bit much imo, esspecially considering theres a lot of members on the wiki actively trying to RECTIFY some of this shit and fix some bad scaling practices.

I feel like a lot of people see “high tier and lots of powers” = bad. When whatever tier or powers a character has should and do come from just the story. Like “Fate hax seems very strong and out there for this series”, doesn’t matter the guy manipulated fate, that’s what is written down.

The only time I get it is series that have feats be all over the shop power wise, especially for longer running series, like saying objectively the flash has any true single physical tier is absolutely just not true. But for many other series I don’t care what number or power they have, just did the story have that feat and power written down, then the profile is saying the truth and that’s what matters.

The thing with VSBW as a whole is that the way of scaling things isn't something everyone will agree upon. Not even everyone in this wiki, despite agreeing to follow it's standards, will always agree on the stuff that gets passed; so it quite figures why people wouldn't agree with stuff like, electricity with an AP of a certain level goes at the speed of Cloud to Ground lightning.
It's a clash of different ways to gauge a feat; VsBattle wiki in particular has also a "weakness" on the sense it wears it's heart on it's sleeve. Everyone can see how we collectively agree to rate each character; whereas Reddit, Comicvine, TikTok and so on just have multiple people giving their individual interpretation of a character's rating when discussing a match, so it has less of a chance of blowing like it's happening right now.
