Fire Emblem Discussion thread: New Forum, New Mystery of the Emblem

They're releasing an official figure of female Byleth as a Dancer. I think it's neat that the colors of her clothes match her hair and normal outfits, so it's unique to her (yes, I am aware that this is how she looks as a Dancer in Fire Emblem Three Hopes).

You forgot to upgrade Marth's speed.

As well as Azura

Ngl, these profiles should've been deleted a long time ago cause the Heroes merger was accepted years ago, but I'll edit them

Well, Shadows Lyn was added to Heroes, but now Heroes characters are in Shadows, so it's a little more direct.
Either way, it's kind of a pet peeve when worst entry/work in a series in terms of writing/game quality happens to be the strongest when it comes to powerscaling/battle boarding material.

Are you talking about Heroes or Shadows in this instance? Despite it's flaws, I do still love Heroes and a lot of its characters regardless of powerscaling.

That's fair. Though, which game are you referring to?

It could be either, but I'd argue Heroes is worse (though, that's because I like the gameplay of Shadows more, and Shadows is not a gacha (saying this as an avid Fate/Grand Order player might be a little hypocritical of me, but eh)).

Shadows for sure. Heroes came out during a time when Fire Emblem had good savings with Awakening and Fates, but was before Echoes and Three Houses and needed something extra to increase marketing. Plus, some of the extended versions of Heroes are better, mainly because of the fan service and learning facts about specific characters. And at least compared to other free to play mobile games, even a Vanilla Heroes gameplay is quite enjoyable.

Shadows doesn't really have the same charm, and people are questioning the need for more live service mobile games given the success of Nintendo Switch compared to Wii U, or how hard 3DS declined despite big initial success. Shadows also basically has some of the same problems that has been plaguing almost any other Live Service competitive multiplayer game ever. Where paying microtransactions is what makes the player dominate everyone else. It's basically Among Us Fire Emblem edition.

The existence of Xeno/Heroes scaling syndrome doesn't necessarily make the games bad story or gameplay wise; though it's a common pet peeve that god tiers feel less special if the scaling goes like "Everyone is a god tier." It's just that Fire Emblem Shadows did not review well on any major critic platform; though has a 4 star audience score on Google Play somehow. But I don't really take those seriously; those are full of people who just blindly give everything a 5 star review.

I still haven't played Shadows yet, I've heard some people say the gameplay gets better as you get into it but conceptually Among Us Fire Emblem is just not appealing to me at all, But I'm interested to read or watch the story at least.

The next feh banner as leaked... we're getting duo brave heroes now...
Brave Ike with Brave Roy as a backpack and Brave Lyn with Brave Lucina as a backpack... with the same design that they had on release

Cool, remember requesting that one a while back

Could probably also use Randall, maybe as a possibly 🤔

Well, we finally have a full picture of Yggrasil

Also more confirmation that each of the Nine Realms are the same size is nice

Really excited to see where this book goes.
The scene of Alfarune towering over Yggdrasil is really cool and imposing, It seems so insignificant compared to him, He could most likely just pick up and crush a realm with his hand if he so chose or maybe even the whole tree.

I'm honestly surprised there hasn't been at least one Nintendo Crossover in FEH itself, Pretty much every mobile game has crossovers, Guess they want to uphold the integrity of the lore and cosmology, Well outside of cheeky things like Sothis mentioning Smash anyway.

Yeah, we got FE characters in Dragalia Lost (rest in power...), but not the other way around. Though I guess TBF, Fate/Grand Order doesn't do crossovers either, and that one is WAY bigger than FEH from what I heard. Maybe they felt that FE had enough to work with on its own to not need crossovers? Or maybe they'd rather do a Smash mobile game at that point...

I mean, they did reference Jack Frost from SMT, albeit indirectly

I'm most surprised that SMT hasn't happened, SMT Dx2 is right there, and they cross over with tons of stuff they could easily stick even just the Tokyo Mirage Session characters in there.
