DCU General Discussion Thread

Another interesting thing I found posted on Threads is that James Gunn uses this specific definition for what he considers to qualify as a metahuman, also noting that Mr. Terrific is "arguably" a metahuman:

"In DC Comics, a metahuman is a human-like being with extraordinary, often paranormal, abilities. These powers can arise from a variety of sources, including science, magic, alien origins, mutation, divinity, proficiency, or technology."
This could help with the scaling, everything that has superpowers and looks human enough would be considered a meta, meaning they're below Clark.

From Enchantress I had a question for you all guys. With what character would you prefer to start the exploration of Magic in DCU ? We are probably not going to mainline movie centered on it in this decade but in the future.

The most common bet is Constantine and Zatanna.

Zatanna, 100%. Although I wouldn’t be surprised if it ended up being Raven, through the Teen Titans movie.

The verse page is officially live

We've got the Superman movie profiles all out (aside from Ultraman and Lex)

now for creature commandos we only have Phosphorus and Nina ready to go but haven't been produced yet though all the calcs ARE done so like we just need to actually finish their profiles and publish them

We can’t have an 11th Street Kids profile unless every member of the team has a page lol
Valid lol

I just can't imagine a situation where someone is gonna be like, "Man you know who I really wanna put in a VS MU today? John Economos. Ya know the guy who broke his leg by tripping on a fence."

At least Adebayo can shoot pretty good.

To be fair, 10-B characters tend to get funny matchups, see Ned Leeds as an example.

We have a Ned profile or other goons like Saul Goodman, lowkey they can all have one they HAVE shit

Is Peacemaker currently listed as being in both the DCU and DCEU? because its the same character but we're treating these as separate universes right?

CRT closed so I couldn't say this, but Mr. Terrific has an issue in his profile.

He has higher with his spheres, but the value provided and the feat itself is actually lower then his physical capabilities. Normally, I would just say maybe remove the number, but is there any proof that his T-Spheres are stronger compared to his physical abilities as opposed to just being more useful such as having hacking skills, forcefields and explosions that can be sent into a kaiju? Because my assumption is that the T-Spheres were treated as being more powerful was because before the revisions and James Gunn, it was stronger through pure feats.

The whole kaiju thing wouldn't really support the spheres being stronger either since he sent them into the kaiju's stomach and detonated them, which is something he couldn't do without the spheres without presumably dying.

yeah its different continuities even though like 99% of Peacemaker S1 which was DCEU is canon to the DCU so like the DCU peacemaker will have his own profile once this season is all done

Yeah, and the DCEU Peacemaker profile will only have TSS + Season 1 content while the DCU Peacemaker profile will have Season 1 + Season 2 (and any future seasons) and anything from TSS that makes it into DCU canon.

its just linked to have something linked ngl. There's no explicit statement just their performance, he doesn't like one shot the raptors with melee but the T-Sphere do, he isn't really punching through the Kaiju's insides but the T-spheres can blow them up.

Its insides aren't going to be like orders of magnitudes weaker or anything like they ARE weaker but like not so much that like we can assume he could just punch them apart

Then should we just axe the statistic? Oh, I see you've done that. Well, that's fair enough then.

Superman MU

Ngl someone else can take over the Bride’s profile if they want, cause I’m probably not finishing that any time soon

On another note, for the age sections of the CC characters, I’m pretty sure there’s a statement from Gunn that Creature Commandos takes place a few months before Superman, which takes place in May 2025.

Also, Flag Sr. becomes director of A.R.G.U.S. eight months before Peacemaker S2 (and therefore seven months before Superman), which would be October 2024. That means CC takes place roughly around June 2024 (since Gunn said “months”, CC is presumably less than a year before Superman) to October 2024.
