I'm surprised this wasn't made before but yeah, I'll be explaining why GoH characters should have general resistance to soul manipulation - more specifically soul damaging abilities. The
Borrowed Power is the main power system of the verse. It works by summoning either a part of or the entire person either in a stand-like fashion or within your body to increase your own physical ability.
Besides the glaring visual implication of a ghostly version of a character flying around the user, it is described to be a spiritual power, often said to be the "soul", "spirit", or "half-ghost" of the person who's power you are borrowing. All things considered it is pretty clear that Borrowed Powers are inherently the souls of people. This is relevant because BPs retain most of the person's physical capabilities, usually being more bound by the connection to the borrower than by their spiritual nature. We can see this through examples where Borrowed Powers can interact with and block attacks capable of interacting with them, and even matching and damaging each others attacks.
That is to say that souls of GoH characters that can become Borrowed Powers retain not just most of their power but also most of their durability. And who can become a BP in GoH? Literally everyone, something that actually happens at the end of the series at least for a moment.
During his side quest to gain new Yeouis, Mori has to fight dragons in order to make them submit to him and accept him as their master. These dragons are yet again, just their souls of dragons that have been killed thousands of millenia ago, and yet they're capable of taking strong attacks which are capable of interacting with them. Not only that, even the ancient Ogre who was only left with the mind portion of her soul still retained her durability against soul damaging attacks.
It's pretty clear that souls within GoH retain the same or comparable level of durability as their physical bodies. As such any soul-damaging attack would still have to overcome their durability in order to actually damage the souls rather than acting as durability negation. This means that all souls in GoH should get basic resistance to soul damage

The Borrowed Powers and souls
