How would this work in a Versus Match?

So, we know that if a character disappears/dies/incapacitated for 24 hours, then it is considered a win for the opposing opponent.

However, what about characters that work that way? For example, in a novel I'm reading, there is a character that is designed in such a way that it'll always come back after 24 hours, with more numbers/clones, and is stronger. This cycle continues until, after 9 months straight, it becomes exponential in terms of power and numbers. Though eventually like after a month, it appears every month or so, albeit vastly stronger. This, for the record, includes even if he was;
  • Erased (Soul shenanigans)
  • Incapacitated
  • Died by Conceptual Death Manipulation
  • Had their time devoured (ie erased from time)
  • etc...
It'll always come in 24 hours, and it'll even come in your dreams if you were sleeping, and can kill you there.

The character is designed to fight this way, ie wait the 24 hours, but would it be considered a loss for it in a normal match, even though his power set requires 24-hour shenanigans?

I wouldn't consider it so unless he exceeds the 24 hrs. If he returns exactly 24 hrs later, I'd say that would avoid the incap condition.

IIRC it is after 24 hours. The whole shtick of the character in-verse, and the reason why it is powerful, is because it is unkillable, and will always come for the target. After every day, it'll get stronger and stronger (when it was killed/incap/whatever), till it eventually kills the target. That's the reason why it is feared in the verse.

That said, after like a year or so, it only comes back after a month (far stronger and resistances and whatnot), so I'd assume that'd be a win for the opponent when it reaches that point?

Then yes, that would be an incap for our purposes.
