Superman (2025) Movie Spoiler Discussion Thread

Isn't Luthor physically a regular human?
Flag is a regular human and can fight Dr. Phosphorus who had blatant supersonic+ combat feats? Being a regular human in fiction and especially comic media doesn't mean much especially when Superman himself has the blatant speed feats happening on the screen that are legit Superspeed so like🤷‍♂️

I think it’s clear the DCU has a much different definition of “regular human” considering not only Flag’s feats, but also the fact that Mister Terrific wasn’t turned to paste after being slammed by the Engineer lol

Yeah that and he wasn't like being blitzed by those Raptors who like are very clearly fast in combat in the way they dogpiled Superman chased him down in combat

Speaking of actually, I know they got clowned on by Mister Terrific, but the Raptor suits are lowkey kinda strong. They resist anti-matter, have built in weapons, can tank Sueperman's heat vision (I know he can adjust how strong it is), and can allow the user to survive falling however high up they were when Clark knocked them out of the sky with seemingly no meaningful injuries sustained.

Okay this is everything we have so far below.

I'm new to this board. So, any idea how strong this version of Superman? He's a charmint boy scout, I love this movie.

when it comes to super ficitonal setting my own personal rule of thumb is that most regular humans are prob like peak human at worse to superhuman most likely lol

Does the High 6-B Metamorpho star creation scale to anything? or just to the peak of Metamorpho's creation AP?

I have the context for this now, and Flag not dying instantly against a guy who can literally walk through a tank is insane. Dude is just built different, I guess.

I mean yeah that's how fiction usually works, Flag survives that beating from Clayface and Frankenstein and made a full recovery by Superman too. Batman also beat Phosphorus too in the flashback. That's why I say you shouldn't judge Lex and his goons for being able to read Superman when its fiction and we've already got crazy stuff like that in the DCU as per Flag, Batman, and Mr. Terrific fighting Superpowered goons

Oh yeah I'm not judging, I'm all in for it. I just thought it was worth noting that Flag is just kinda like that.

oh nah you're all good I didn't think you were judging the first sentence is me just going back to the whole but "Lex Luthor is a regular human" thing saying that's just how shit works in fiction with regular humans but yeah Flag is going to definitely buff the scaling in Peacemaker too

It wasn't just Luthor, the other technicians in the room with him also shouted commands. If every random human is as fast as Superman, it makes his speed meaningless.

May favorite one I think is when the people of Jarhanpur were chanting for Superman I almost felt like crying
The part where the older man sees the kids chanting and decides to join in is just so good. It gets me every time. The movie was on a straight up generational run for a solid 10 minutes, there. The talk with Pa Kent, the Jarhanpurians raising the flag, and Clark saving that woman from the collapsing building and rising from the smoke. All peak.

It doesn't really matter either way tbh, and it only counts towards reactions anyways and even moreso on top of that its analytical prediction to the point he's basically precogging Superman so he's giving the commands before the next action is over it just kinda is what it is, its fiction brodie.

Flag can fight Supersonic+ goons, Mr. Terrific could fight off all those raptors and we saw how fast they flew and rushed Superman, shit just happens all the time in fiction

you’re acting like i’m the only one saying this even people that liked the movie say this as well. it tries so hard to be different from what came before that it just either makes stupid decisions or discards things that make superman great. tons of reviews saying it “over corrects”, even from people that love it.

she doesn’t find out any information it’s jimmy that does this

woah woah woah woah. when tf did i ever say superman being nice is a bad thing? the problem is superman is TOO nice to the point where he’s not taken seriously at all. james gunn says it’s supposed to be heavily inspired by kingdom come where his superman leads the generation of heroes because they think true heroism is a thing of the past but the movie doesn’t portray that at all because of how much of a wimp superman can be. For example he doesn’t wanna kill the monster jusy the justice gang lirerally just air him, kill it and when he says something about it they just ***** him. u see what i mean here? his presence isn’t commanding at all IN NO POINT in the movie does he ever feel like an inspiration for the other heroes but rather he just feels like the optimistic naive new guy on the scene, especially when u couple in the way david is yelling all the time, he doesn’t really come off as an adult. Even when he’s sad he comes off as a kid.

He had enough time to say “i’ll tell you”. in a void the movie is alright to me but sadly, they were many stakes involved in this, i do not need to explain why it needed to be great.
Never seen more hating in my life. Calling Superman a wimp In this movie is insane. Among other issues you have which I think are bull. But hey taste is subjective, so you believe what you want, don't watch any of the other DCU movies if you don't like this

What do y'all think of this? I'm not strong in these types of calculations.

literally waiting on the calcs to be evaluated that's all that's stopping me, if it takes too long I'll just make the thread anyways and use it to draw attention for evals, so if I don't get the eval after a certain while today then the thread shall be made

You should post them in a evaluation thread (because I don't see them there; or if they were, bump).
