Wow, I genuinly thought this matchup would be more popular lol. I'll jump back in a hour to give my unresearched thoughts
 
Freya upscales a lot from Athena, so she'd definitely have the AP and Speed advantages.

Athena is probably the smarter and more tactical of the two.

Freya has a larger arsenal of magic to pull from, but Greek Godhood gives Athena a massive pool of resistances.

I think I'll probably give this to Athena high diff honestly. She's more tactical and Hax resistant, as possessing Precog, which to my realization Freya hasn't shown resistance to, and Power Null which she's dosent resist at all, and famously was nulled by Odin.

I am open to change my opinion tho, but for now I'll vote for Athena

So uhh, Freya has the better stats in speed, power, durability, aerial combat and handy Time Manipulation(but to be fr her bum ahh never uses it for some reason) she can go intangible by going through sheets of reality(but same problem as the time manipulation) so she has stuff Athena has no answer like Time Manipulation and Intangibility but her negative IQ hax usage limits her a lot.

Athena has a lot of hax Freya also has no answer for as well, her Power Nullification, her Mind Manipulation, Telepathy, Biological Manipulation, Pain Manipulation and Dream Manipulation which is thought based, her precog which would give her pretty hand info such as Freya being vastly stronger, faster, better combattant, so she might just go use hax on jumpstart.

So if the speed diff ain't that much bigger that Athena could still make some time to use her thought based stuff and precog she should logically win.

So going Athena.

Well below her in terms of AP. Scaling RN goes like this

Ares < Brother Kings (5x Ares) < Drakes (10x Ares via the tenfold thing over Dragons that 2018 Kratos beats without much effort, 2018 Kratos being Ares level currently) < God-Kings (< 2x Brother Kings + maybe Athena's corpse)
 
Freya wins. The AP gap is big enough to be more than a one shot (if Athena is Ares level) and Freya is almost certainly faster as well.

In terms of combat skill Athena has literally 0 showings. She never fights in the series. She's very manipulative but manipulation and combat skill are not the same. Maybe we could put her around Ares in terms of skill being the goddess of war on account of the lack of direct feats. Freya on the other hand was able to go toe to toe with a much more experienced Kratos than the one who bested Ares. She is also stated to be his equal in every relevant metric which should include combat skill.

For abilities she could try and precog but I'm pretty sure that requires her to be in a trance like state for a little while. That is not something you can afford to do in battle.

Power nullification like Zeus probably requires physical contact, if she comes near Freya she's basically dead.

The dream thing could possibly be useful although the novel does mention that if Kratos was strong of mind he could've defeated the phantom. But still we don't know if she would start with this, most gods start with physical attacks anyway.

From where does this scaling chain emerge? Is there a thread detailing it?
 
Really pending towards Freya here, FRA mainly towards comparison to Kratos.
