Because apparently Jason possessed himWhy are we deleting Roy’s profile?
Honestly you got a point. I also remember the director stating that when tommy put on the mask. Jason possessed him. But perhaps it was retconned. Also I'm not even sure how we would include the curse of Jason Voorhees key when there is plans of splitting Jason profile into different partsYou're adding context where there is none. Let's look at this simply:
Jason has possessed people in various media whether by his mask or his heart. He's also a deadite - their whole schtick is possession
Roy's victim is shown as one of Jason's
Now, what's more likely: The writers had Freddy resurrect Roy's victim mistakenly (If he knows about Roy's victims, he should know about Roy, so this idea is illogical in itself), but not mention it within the comic for some reason; or it's just an easter egg confirming that Jason was Roy, which is in line with his possession powers?

Occam's Razor/Abductive Reasoning - Jason possessed Roy. If you wanna split hairs over his different behavior, well, he is blatantly superhuman despite being ostensibly being some no-name paramedic prior to his son's death, smashing through doors and lifting people with one arm, and he makes no sound after getting stabbed in the balls and that only makes sense if he was Jason.
That's true. I remember one of the novels stating that Roy was the only legitimate copycat. And it was in carnaval of maniacs if I'm not mistakenPersonally this just sounds like a load of headcanon and also kinda damaging to Roy's character.
You're saying that because Freddy manifested one of Roy's victims (in a secondary canon source, mind you), that means that Jason was secretly possessing him the entire time (before he was ever shown to actually have that power) and that we should axe Roy's profile and swap when Jason gets possession. That's a leap in logic that shouldn't be called "occam's razor" anytime soon
All official media treats Roy as an insane copycat killer, that was the original intention and continues to be what the series treats it as. Anything else is purely speculative. I can think of at least three equally possible reasons why Freddy conjured up one of Roy's victims
That is correct, yesThat's true. I remember one of the novels stating that Roy was the only legitimate copycat. And it was in carnaval of maniacs if I'm not mistaken
YeThat is correct, yes
What character lol? The dude has 10 seconds of screen time without the mask but is otherwise for all intents and purposes Jason with the same 9-B feat.Personally this just sounds like a load of headcanon and also kinda damaging to Roy's character.
That’s only true if you assume the conclusion for your premise - Begging the question fallacy. You're saying that because Freddy manifested one of Roy's victims (in a secondary canon source, mind you), that means that Jason was secretly possessing him the entire time (before he was ever shown to actually have that power AND through a method that he hasn't shown previously) and that we should axe Roy's profile and swap when Jason gets possession. That's a leap in logic that shouldn't be called "occam's razor" anytime soon
Well the mere fact that you say “Roy’s victims” tells me your headcanon’s gonna be bunk since you obviously haven’t read the comic yet you’re arguing it anyways. It’s one guy, as I previously said. And Freddy specifically states: “Rise Voorhees victims past and present.”All official media treats Roy as an insane copycat killer, that was the original intention and continues to be what the series treats it as. Anything else is purely speculative. I can think of at least three equally possible reasons why Freddy conjured up one of Roy's victims
More than likely from humans, not the omniscient narrator or Freddy who lived inside his head. That's true. I remember one of the novels stating that Roy was the only legitimate copycat. And it was in carnaval of maniacs if I'm not mistaken
But it was the author's intent correct?More than likely from humans, not the omniscient narrator or Freddy who lived inside his head.
also the Freddy Krueger summoning one of his victims could just be a Easter egg. We don't know if it was meant to be serious or notBut it was the author's intent correct?
I get the idea, but I don't think an offhanded statement by a human necessarily debunks it. In-universe, supposing Jason was confirmed to be possessing Roy, from their POV he would still seem like a copycat, and I believe a few other of his murder sprees are dismissed as copycat killers or urban legends at some points,But it was the author's intent correct?
THis imo is the best argument, and I'd be fine with it if it wasn't already established Jason (and his mom) have possession powersalso the Freddy Krueger summoning one of his victims could just be a Easter egg. We don't know if it was meant to be serious or not
Fair point but there is one thing about why Roy burns wouldn't be possessed. Jason needs to either get his heart eaten or have his mask be used (from p9 I assume since these novels take place after it). As we know Roy burns doesn't wear the original mask. Rather a new one that isn't of Jason. I also think it's unlikely he ate his heart tooI get the idea, but I don't think an offhanded statement by a human necessarily debunks it. What else does he do?Reality-warping and nigh-omnipotence is listed in his powers in the villains wiki.
I'm playing the game on my phone - he can teleport, telekinetically lift objects, trap souls into objects, plant manipulation, reality warping, among others. He can render the player to be trapped in an infinite loop of challenges. He also his two transformations: a demon state and a giant state, where he can instantly kill the Player from impact. He can also travel between dimensions: He can trap the Player in his Carcosa dimension. He doesn't have any notable AP feats as far as I remember. Though, he can survive being burned in an oven and falling from large heights. What else does he do?
I haven't seen the game in like two years but I dont remember him doing much.
My fault on that. And this is a horror movie discussion thread
"Creation" from that FNAF game is better
