Well, damn, it seems something went down (and is still going down) when I wasn't looking.

Now why the **** would I EVER do what you want? You have nothing to threaten me with other than the idea of you bitching about my profiles forever.
Are you really okay? You seem to purposely pit yourself against others.I could import all my profiles to Omniversal Battlefield...
Cause it makes dumb walls of texts that just make it even worse to drag onWhat's wrong with split quotes?
Damn, sorry there are so many items in Pokemon I guess.Cause it makes dumb walls of texts that just make it even worse to drag on
TLDR but its because then its hardly a trainer profile, when said trainer has no actual character or direct feats of their own, nor set Pokemon. You're basically giving a profile to some OC, unlike actual named characters in SMT.
This verse doesnt need more overbloated pages either. They weren't made cause its quite literally is just a page of all the mons in a dex. If its anything like the Gloria and Calem pages, its way too long and yapping too if we're deadass gonna name EVERY item in the game.
eh, it terms of quality it IS sort of like arguing there's any form of general scaling in Overwatch!Cause it makes dumb walls of texts that just make it even worse to drag on

Literally just pulled the Arceus immersive EXBtw anyone playing Pocket here?
Congrats!Literally just pulled the Arceus immersive EX
Eh, fair enough.Cause it makes dumb walls of texts that just make it even worse to drag on
They seem pretty similar to me.TLDR but its because then its hardly a trainer profile, when said trainer has no actual character or direct feats of their own, nor set Pokemon. You're basically giving a profile to some OC, unlike actual named characters in SMT.
That's just how it is. We can't ignore vital parts of their kits just because the pages would be really long. This verse doesnt need more overbloated pages either. I've discussed it with Agnaa off-site, and there's nothing confirming proper multipliers for stat changes (say, Agility, Speed Boost) outside data mining, so those likely will be scrapped unless somebody has an official scan talking about them with more than a vague "raises Speed" or similar. Additionally there's concerns on how exponential the logic for priority stacking can get, add to that there being no in-lore talk of stuff with +4 priority or more (Protect, Helping Hand, but correct me if I'm wrong), and in total I don't think that priority is going to be as buffed as I originally wanted to propose.please let me know when this is discussed or decided. Very curious, this came up in a versus thread and we didn't know the answer.
PMD has themscrapped unless somebody has an official scan talking about them with more than a vague "raises Speed" or similar
all of them I think, it's the common monster house experienceWhich PMD?
Makes sense, so we can give them EVERYTHING everything, gotcha.Quite sure that having Arceus in HGSS leads to a whole subplot to get a member of the Creation Trio, so that'd be totally something within Ethan's kit.
Trading is also fair game per the whole deal with the Entralink, plus it's impossible to complete the Pokedex in all core series games without that. The same by extension also applies to transfers from past generations (and future ones when it comes to the Switch games bar LGPE, plus Gen 1-2 and the Time Capsule).
They're hardly 'vital parts' of the kits when we dont actually know and just make up what Pokemon/strategies/items they decide to use. Every playthrough is different, but for Pokemon although you can scale their physicals, you cant concretely say that they have access to all these pokemon (even if they did, they'd be restricted to six). Theres no point documenting itThat's just how it is. We can't ignore vital parts of their kits just because the pages would be really long.
Then tell people to not be lazy ***** in matches and to select the Pokémon and items used for the team in a note. Not that hard. They're hardly 'vital parts' of the kits when we dont actually know and just make up what Pokemon/strategies/items they decide to use. If you have to desperately insert yourself into the conversation, then at least get the point ffs. No one finds you quirky. Take those 'matches' to the FC/OC wiki or smthnThen tell people to not be lazy ***** in matches and to select the Pokémon and items used for the team in a note. Not that hard.
I dunno Jinx, as long as we aren't using non-canon shit and actually have profiles for every obtainable Pokémon in the region, I'd say go wild.If you have to desperately insert yourself into the conversation, then at least get the point ffs. Well theres a reason why they havent been made thus far... And now theres like, 30+ of them lol. Are we saying the boys and girls are the same too or different??I think giving the protagonists every obtainable Pokémon is just as fair as giving a typical rpg hero every weapon/item/spell in their game. That'sthe standard for Baldur's Gate, Persona, SMT, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest... We don't need to arbitrarily decide what is and isn't canon because it's all canon.
The profiles will be huge, but so what? If you don't want to make them, someone else can. Not a big deal at all
I'm one step ahead, but it'll take months before this is doneI dunno Jinx, as long as we aren't using non-canon shit and actually have profiles for every obtainable Pokémon in the region, I'd say go wild.
Oh, and also have someone make a blog as to what each moves haxes actually are.
Because I haven't been here until now hahaWell theres a reason why they havent been made thus far...
I think the easiest option would be to do "The Player (Pokémon Heart Gold and Soul Silver)" etc etc, but I think splitting the protags by gender could also work (even if the profiles would be a copy/paste with the name and gender changed)Are we saying the boys and girls are the same too or different??
This isn't always the case, look at Persona or SMT, or Baldur's Gate companions/summons, or Final Fantasy summons. We give FF protags access to optional summons and spellsYh but despite the 'typical rpg hero', Pokemon and its powers all come from the Pokemon the character uses, not their own power.
The fact that I can open up Pokemon HG and catch a Dunsparce rn proves that Ethan can have a Dunsparce, lol. This goes for literally everything in their kittheres barely any actual evidence for what the character can actually use
If you'd want, yeah. It's not like this makes Ethan or anyone else an OC, anyone can replicate it within the game.If you use it for matches, you essentially just have to make up a character and a six-team for them, but based on what exactly? Your own playthrough as a kid?
They're the main protagonists of the games they appear in, that's pretty important. Everyone can scale to them and vice versa. They have the most screen time and the most feats of any characters in the series.Even aside from that, what use is there for a page that just lists like, 150+ Pokemon and all their abilities at a time when those pokemon can just each get separate profiles.
This sounds really weird. They have the most feats of any character in the series, they beat all the Gym Leaders, Legendries, wild Pokémon, evil teams...All you'd be able to scale them to is 'Beat the champion' or smthn. And then the rest is literally just making stuff up about them as they go along.
I'd argue that the protags do have characters. In SM/USUM, they're the new kid on the block who goes on an adventure, and you cannot change that aspect of them. They are totally meant to be a stand-in, but only to an extent. It isnt like Joker,, hwo actually has a character outside of being the playable silent protag with a direct ability that says they can use all personas.
I personally have little interest in doing anything but making the Ethan profile atm (except that Scolipede blog I made and forgot about...)Also ppl should prioritise getting the profiles organised over making the most challenging, longest and assumption-based characters yet.
Heck, cant we start making/fixing anime trainer profiles?
I did think about this, yes. For example, Ralsei from Deltarune (another RPG) has their base weapons as Standard Equipment, and their upgraded/optional weapons as Optional Equipment. I do think this could apply to our protags, list the starters and any other mandatory pokemon (Castform, Rayquaza, Reshiram/Zekrom) as Standard and the optional ones (Pidgey, Donphan, etc) as OptionalCan't we split the Pokemon available between Standard and Optional Equipment (for the lack of a better term)?
Possible, yes. Need to get thoughts though.Another possibility, which I personally don't like very much, is go the Ben 10 route and unless the character has a standard team by themselves, simply make a profile for the character and specify which Pokemon they can catch or something, given most have their own profiles.
Maybe keep in the species profile as standard abilities all the moves the Pokémon learns by level up, alongside Nature and Abilities (unless special ones that require an event or something of the sort) and as optional everything that needs a trainer proper (Machines, Tutors, Breeding, Events, etc)?I'd think the Ben 10 route would be best, if it wasn't for trainers by nature also adding TMs, HMs, TRs and Tutor moves as a factor. If anything, it may be ideal to add TMs, HMs, TRs and Tutor moves to the species profiles, but as a separate section and having a note on all profiles that such moves are not obtainable without a trainer.
Tell that to basically every RPG franchise ever.
