Devil May Cry Discussion Thread

Wasnt said it gotta wait till another thread was handled regarding the tiering near the end? How was it accepted then? Were the previous votes taken after the wait and agreed it can be added on profiles?

I said that because it was an on-going thread at the time and I thought it would be went over pretty soon but it took months and it barely passed a page or so.

Not that my thread actively depended on it whatsoever soo why I should wait for something they are not serious about themselves? Infact, I was more serious about it given it was me who kept urging everyone to reply there + there are already multiple threads postponed with the verse for one reason or another and many CRT threads over a verse is prohibited. It was a matter of common sense for me to proceed with it.

Well DMC is very 2000's at it's core, and Nu Metal was especially popular in the early 2000's, the same time period when the first game released.

I spot some details:

Dante is wielding an awakened Rebellion (Post-DMC3 but Pre-DMC5).

Lady is there wielding the Kalina Ann.

The opening shot with all the swords showed Rebellion, Red Queen, and the swords Dante has in DMC1, DMC2 and DMC3, apart from the Sparda.

Sparda was shown flying in the air wielding the Sparda.

Mundus is shown.

There appear to be a group of new demons introduced as villains, including a leader and a high-ranking female demon. They also appear to transform into winged demons that resemble Sparda.

There might be another faction in play.

Hey everyone, DMC5 is currently Capcom's 11th best-selling title at 8.7 million units, with the top ten all being Monster Hunter and Resident Evil titles.

DMC is currently Capcom's fifth best-selling franchise.

Sales stats are as follows:
1. Resident Evil: 163 million units
2. Monster Hunter: 105 million units
3. Street Fighter: 55 million units
4. Mega Man: 42 million units
5. Devil May Cry: 32 million units (8.7 of them from DMC5 alone)
6. Dead Rising: 17 million units
7. Ace Attorney: 12 million units
8. Dragon's Dogma: 12 million units
9. Marvel vs Capcom: 11 million units
10. Onimusha: 8.7 million units (whole franchise is comparable to DMC 5 alone)
11. Lost Planet: 6.8 million units
12. Ghosts n' Goblins: 4.6 million units
13. Dino Crisis: 4.4 million units
14. Okami: 4.2 million units
15. Sengoku Basara: 4.1 million units
16. Breath of Fire: 3.3 million units
17. Final Fight: 3.1 million units
18. 1942: 1.4 million units
19. Commando: 1.2 million units

For an important note beyond simply the total sales, Monster Hunter is performing the best at present while Resident Evil, Street Fighter and Mega Man all heavily benefit from their long-term success going back so many years.

How much the other DMC games sold?

How much the other DMC games sold?
*million units shipped to stores

2.16 for DMC1
1.7 for DMC2
2.3 for DMC3 (including the Special Edition; 1.3 for base, 1 for SE)
3.95 for HD Collection (technically these sales can be added onto the first three in a sense)
6.992 for DMC4 (including Special Edition; 3.29 for the base game, 3.7 for SE)
8.7 for DMC5

5.4 for the Reboot (4 for base, 1.4 for Definitive) *

*Major caveat here, the units shipped represents sales projections and in turn the number of units sold to stores, not to customers. This is usually an accurate representation of actual sales, but in the case of the reboot they shipped a huge number of copies only to have most of them not sell, so in the case of this particular entry the figures are very misleading.

Crazy how DMC4 sold almost as good as the hd collection with base game only and SE got it at 7 million almost

Yet Capcom didnt see it as a success, they must have had high standards with that one

The decision to reboot DMC was made during Capcom's push towards the West. It did a fair bit of damage to their company, it almost killed DMC, and it damaged a couple other brands as well. Finally the company course-corrected and fired the turkey who was behind the push. Then DMC was left in the drawer as a damaged brand for five years, until we finally got DMC5.

Am I tripping or DMC4 was around 5 million last time I checked?

Rumors of a remake like the resident evil games spreading around

Isn't the rumour just based on Dan Southworth saying Capcom wanted a young Vergil voice for something? Could just as easily be the Netflix show or some kind of spin-off.

Guys i have found something similar to Argosax's speed feat
Btw is this immeasurable speed?
The Scan
Translation:
"Demons, even the lesser ones, transcend the concepts of time and distance with their pure speed. Due to them wanting to hunt humans and souls as fast as possible"
It got translated by vsb translators
