Heaven's Dogma (RP Thread)

Skinner chuckled. It was funny because he didn't have a scalp, and thus didn't have any hair.
"Glad to see you're working hard to help everyone. Keep it up and have a nice day.", Taiga told him as he walked down the boat.
"I just thought he'd had all of his skin cut off. Both are believable..." Kurai murmured as she steps off of the boat and onto the first stratum. It's a bit unusual—she'd never been on a ship before, especially one that was sailing in daemon stomach fluid, so it took a bit to get her balance on the slightly swaying structure.
"Struggling to stay upright? The waves have a certain rhythm and flow to them, kind of like a dance.", the tall man said as he kindly offered Kurai his hand. "Need help?"
"Gruesome. Interesting." Arkhan commented, giving the man a passing glance
"Sounds like you'll fit right in with the community.", the Watcher teased.
"Hmph." Arkhan's eyes narrowed a bit, but she didnt respond immediately
"Nobody comes to mind? You'll find out who it is soon enough, but allow me to give you a hint. If Eye am the right, then he is the left. We watch over this land together, two parts of a whole."
"It's alright." the Foxian commented, nodding as their ears would soon do so. "I just find it oddly strange to find a civilization under here of all places. It's different from the homes I've visited in The Citadel...."
"There are even stranger things for you to discover here. Come on.", Taiga waved at her as if inviting her to follow.

"Sounds like you'll fit right in with the community.", the Watcher teased.
"I am a necromancer." Arkhan responded, shaking her head
"Nobody comes to mind? You'll find out who it is soon enough, but allow me to give you a hint. If Eye am the right, then he is the left. We watch over this land together, two parts of a whole."
"Is it one or a mixture of two? Young or old?"

(Remember, sometimes Horus and Ra are merged as Ra-Horakhty, or he's older as Heru-ur. It's just Horus though)

"Struggling to stay upright? The waves have a certain rhythm and flow to them, kind of like a dance.", the tall man said as he kindly offered Kurai his hand. "Need help?"
"No. I... I got it." Kurai says as she takes a few moments to adjust herself. It's a bit of a process, but it doesn't take very long for her to get used to the strange rhythm of the structure.

"...Anyways, this is certainly a... place." She said, looking around the first stratum from its edge, observing the non-euclidean geometry of the "houses". "But I guess it's something."

"Is it one or a mixture of two? Young or old?"

(Remember, sometimes Horus and Ra are merged as Ra-Horakhty, or he's older as Heru-ur. It's just Horus though)
"Eh, who knows? You seem to be on the right track though so... no more clues from me.", he shrugged.

(In case you're wondering, Witness' Dogma isn't meant to be Ra. He's just making references to him either due to their similarities or just for the hell of it hence why he said "if")

"Heyyyy, I didn't mean it lite---....." She didn't bother. It was a waste of words trying to appeal to something Gwen clearly wants. "Course I'm clingy.... got a problem with that?" Her head laid to the side of Nimah's shoulder, wiping her face as if to rid herself off the red cheeks.
Nimah didn't respond, simply tightening her grip around the woman's shoulder, resting her head next to Gwen's. Her cheeks didn't blush despite the paleness of her skin, and no happiness was reflected in her eyes, yet the faint, empty smile remained stretched across her features. The grip loosened as they approached the strange civilization.

"Are the traders open t'outsiders? Wanna check out what's on 'ffer." Nimah said mildly. She casually pushed Gwen away, jumping unsteadily onto one of the floating stratum.

"Definitely. While there's no guaranteed that you'll find what you want, you can draw a lot of attention by offering something valuable that can only be found outside. We managed to obtain resources very quickly using this method.", Taiga answered.

"....I think I need to rest." Kurai murmurs to herself, her partial mask reforming into a full shell around her head as she walks into the first stratum. There didn't seem to be a concept of "ownership" in this place—people walked in and out of whatever structure they wished, and if someone didn't like that, they fought or settled it however they felt like it. She strolled away from the group to find her resting place.

"...Stupid barbarians." She walks past a group of men brawling over something she can't be f*cked to care about. Surrounding her are stairs and pathways that seem to lead nowhere and yet can bring one somewhere if they just happen to make the right turn. Kurai sighs, finding a decently large, metal hexagonal structure, held together by rusty screws and bolts in the higher parts of the stratum.

She walks into the doorway that lacks a door, taking in the smell of rust and death, before sitting down, staring at the ceiling with its many geometrical holes and openings to peer into the "sky", which ends at the daemon's stomach lining. Just like on the outside, they were still trapped in a dome.

"A-are you looking for something?" A small feminine voice murmured a fair distance away from Kurai; Aurum Argentea had seen Kurai go into the doorway. Still nervous and agitated, but trying to approach newcomers to make them feel something besides misery.

The skeletal figure lowers her head, the two voids that served as her mask's eyes peering into the girl from afar. She sighs.

"...I was looking for a place to rest. I found it." She says bluntly.

Nimah mulled over this for a moment.

"All the stuff I coulda traded was on my last body. Oughta bill Turtle fer the damages." Nimah sighed exaggeratedly. "Guessin' I'll just browse fer now." She gave the group a lazy wave, before walking off in the direction of the marketplace.

"You did? where?" Aurum asked innocently, still keeping her cautious distance of several meters out

"...Here. In this room." Kurai says, her tone remaining blunt as she points out the hexagonal box she sits at the edge of.

"...Not a very bright kid..." She thinks to herself.

"Unused storage room? yeah... probably a good choice. catch!" Aurum tossed something bright red at Kurai; an apple, from the stem and bottom, and it was moving pretty slow in Kurai's perception.

Kurai snatched the red orb out of the air. She raised an eyebrow beneath her mask.

"...What the f*ck is this? Is this food??"

"An apple. It's food. my body can sustain making enough of it to get us through as long as I rest enough. Same with water... Though I... admit I've taken a bath and washed by clothes since I've gotten here. I'm not really used to an environment that isn't basically sterilized." Aurum smiled gently at Kurai, she seemed kind of stupid compared to most Dogma user, but she was neither insane nor was she completely stupid, since she was keeping as much distance as she was so that she could more easily react to hostility.

"An... apple." Kurai said. She should've been more surprised about the fact that the girl could produce clean water—but she was more focused on the apple. Clean water could be found or made, but an apple? A fresh apple? She'd only heard of this in legends.

It had to be a trick.

"...And you're just... giving this to me."

"I kind of make them. Basically all of the fruits of my homeland... which was Northern Norway." Aurum seemed to understand the mistrust at play here, to an extent, so she didn't force anything.

"...Nor... way?" Kurai was gradually becoming more confused, and more suspicious.

"The hell is a nor way?" (Note: Norway's land isn't actually referred to as Norway anymore, so not many people would know it existed.)

"It's a 'former' country of Europe... I don't know what it's called now, or even where it is..."

"...Europe." Kurai mutters to herself. Again, another thing she'd only ever heard of in stories. "...."

She begins examining the apple to see if anything was possibly wrong with it. She stared at the thing from practically every angle for about 5 minutes before she was even somewhat confident it wouldn't kill her. Then, slowly, a portion of her mask dissipated, revealing her mouth. Her jaw unhinged, and she bit around 80% of the thing off, including the seeds, and began to chew.

"....tasty. I guess." She murmurs, before eating the rest.

"Careful of the seeds, since large amounts of them can harm you with Cyanide Poisoning... Not going to do anything to you like that but eat too many seeds..."

"...Dunno what this cyanide stuff is, but I don't think it'd do much to me." She said, shrugging. "...anyways... thanks for the apple, or whatever it was. Tasted good... somewhat."

"It's very toxic stuff in quantities that arent minimal at best..." Aurum murmured quietly "You're welcome..."

"....Uh huh." Kurai said, shrugging once more. She reformed the part of her mask around her mouth, licking her lips beneath it.

"...you just gonna stand in the doorway the whole time?"

"...you just gonna stand in the doorway the whole time?"
"I... didn't really know where to stand where I'd still have an escape route if things got... y'know." Aurum murmured quietly, shifting uncomfortably

"...I won't lie and say I wasn't considering it. Initially." Kurai shrugs, "...But, you gave me free food. People don't usually do that. They don't do that ever, in fact. So, you're okay in my book. Just... don't touch me, and I won't touch you."

"There are even stranger things for you to discover here. Come on.", Taiga waved at her as if inviting her to follow.
They did, not trying to even jump high and only hopped down to the platform. "If by 'stranger' you mean 'threat', then no thanks..."

Gwen wasn't exactly pushed away, but she didn't really have any resistance to her being done like that. She felt most comfortable with this woman, whether that smile contained emptiness or something malevolent, she was mature enough not to be swayed by it alone. And she had the tact to prove it.

What Nimah wouldn't notice, however, is a tiny tiny string that followed her as she went to the marketplace.

"...I won't lie and say I wasn't considering it. Initially." Kurai shrugs, "...But, you gave me free food. People don't usually do that. They don't do that ever, in fact. So, you're okay in my book. Just... don't touch me, and I won't touch you."
"All right, I won't..." Aurum finally shifted away from the exit, going to the very back of the room instead, clearly quite jumpy

"So... you got a name or what, kid?" Kurai asked, leaning against the walls of the metal hexagon.

"Well, just thought I'd let you know that folks can freely get into fights with each other as long as they don't involve killing or causing delibitating injuries. I know, it's weird but it's a rule that everyone has collectively agreed to long before we even arrived here.", Taiga informed.

Just like on the outside, they were still trapped in a dome.
"Hey, wait! Doesn't matter whether you can handle yourself, it's still better to not wander off like that!", the muscle man yelled out to them just as his friend excited their ship.

"Huh, looks like we'll have to split up. You and the fox should keep an eye on that merchant and her... girlfriend, or whatever. Grab any important goods you see at the Trading Post while you're at it. Eye will follow Milk-chan and look for Aurum in the Residential Area. The rest of you can come with either of us or just stay on Mandjet.", the Witness said as he pulled out a bag from his suitcase and handed it to the tiger. It had some strange symbols on it, small circles or oval shapes that looked like closed eyelids.

"Okay. We'll make sure to come back in time for dinner. See you guys later."

The men exchanged a manly handshake and nodded at each other before temporarily parting ways.
"So... you got a name or what, kid?" Kurai asked, leaning against the walls of the metal hexagon.
"Aurum Argentea. That's her name.", a familiar male voice could suddenly be heard. The Watcher entered the building, having been eavesdropping on their conversation.

"...Ugh." Kurai sighed, rolling her eyes beneath her mask as more people were entering her little box than she was hoping, "...kid has a tongue. She can speak for herself."

She gave the group a lazy wave, before walking off in the direction of the marketplace.
The 2nd stratum, the marketplace, was filled with similar geometric structures to the 1st stratum, though not meant for residence. The non-Euclidean geometry was used to set up various stands and shops where people exchanged basically anything—whether it be raw materials like wood or metal, rotten or partially fresh foods, old currency, or items that didn't seem to make any sense whatsoever.

Nimah could immediately feel many eyes on her, but nobody made it obvious that they were stalking her the moment she stepped onto the 2nd stratum's platform.

Nimah could immediately feel many eyes on her, but nobody made it obvious that they were stalking her the moment she stepped onto the 2nd stratum's platform.
Nimah, followed by the imperceptible string Gwen had attached to her, flashed the watching eyes a smile, giving a small wink to her 'audience'.

"Don't see any familiar faces. Good." She thought to herself. Gingerly, she moved to a less occupied spot in the market, raising her voice.

"Need somethin' repaired? 'ave a relic more rust than metal? Want that acid stain offa yer wood? I work fast n' I work cheap folks. Just need'ta coin." assertive and bold, Nimah didn't have anything to negotiate with, so she decided she'd simply sell herself. She put on her normal market voice, a doctored enthusiasm carefully mixed with subtle confidence to — hopefully — cause at least someone to consider her offer. The first customer was always the hardest in a new market.

Nimah's sales pitch attracted attention and didn't at the same time. In the background, she could here countless people giving similar declarations of proficiency, several other people likely having very little to offer barring whatever skills they had. Some glanced at her as they passed by in the crowds of the swaying platform, but the world of business was cutthroat—a fancy pitch garnered consideration, but not actual patronage.

Nimah did not waver. She had expected this, though had hoped it would be easier. She pondered if she should drag one of the party members over, maybe use them to vouch for her wears, or to help her provide some kind of example, but decided against that for now — she could always ask the girl, Gwen, to come along if necessary.

"...Plan B, I guess." Nimah thought. With a walk tailored to be both confident and non-threatening, Nimah approached the nearest weapon or machinery stall — or any stall that dealt in solid, easily fixable wears.

"Well, just thought I'd let you know that folks can freely get into fights with each other as long as they don't involve killing or causing delibitating injuries. I know, it's weird but it's a rule that everyone has collectively agreed to long before we even arrived here.", Taiga informed.
"So not even morals and values are taught here?" they asked. "My assumption, to be frank, was that this civilization existed for a short short time. Not for this long..."

Nimah, followed by the imperceptible string Gwen had attached to her, flashed the watching eyes a smile, giving a small wink to her 'audience'.
Gwen could only smile and wait in anticipation with her plan. Clearly, being used like this gave her some clear meaning. She'll be sure to make Nimah reciprocate!

"So not even morals and values are taught here?" they asked. "My assumption, to be frank, was that this civilization existed for a short short time. Not for this long..."
"It's not that they don't exist, rather people just prioritize their survival over anything else. It's a deeply ingrained belief.", Taiga answered while observing Nimah.

"You see, big bro researched and discovered that this centipede thing has likely been alive since the very beginning of the Citadel which explains how it got so big. From what we have learned, the first group ever to survive being swallowed took refuge in the Small Intestines over a hundred years ago. They were the first generation, the ones who created the rules and taught them to those who followed. The second generation then made sure the third also followed in their footsteps and the third did the same to the fourth. See what I'm trying to say? There were only a dozen of them or so at the start. We would have been able to make a difference then, but now there are hundreds living in this place. How can you convince so many people to change the only way of life that they have known for so long?", he looked at Akarui and asked.

"Aurum Argentea. That's her name.", a familiar male voice could suddenly be heard. The Watcher and Arkhan entered the building, having been eavesdropping on their conversation.
"...Ugh." Kurai sighed, rolling her eyes beneath her mask as more people were entering her little box than she was hoping, "...kid has a tongue. She can speak for herself."
"Stop eavesdropping." Aurum instantly spoke, sounding quite annoyed, and a little scared, the expression on her soft face being a mix of apprehension and kind of just acceptance, as if she was kind of used to being eavesdropped on even if she didn't like it.

"Sorry. Force of habit.", he quickly apologized.

"....So you're the kid everyone was getting their panties in a twist about on the boat." Kurai said with a sigh, looking at the girl through her mask. "...Honestly. You're just a brat. If people are taking advantage of kids like you then we may as well start putting babies suckling on mama's teat into child labor..."

"Right..." Aurum sounded very slightly unconvinced

"Yeahahahah...' Aurum laughed nervously "P-people have definitely tried...!" The girl said, even Kurai was taller than her, and chances were she was less scrawny than Aurum too
