Honestly they're both in Quadrillions so that's absolutely fine by me, don't mind them putting Sonic slower.

It was nicely researched.
 
I'm mainly surprised they didn't agree with the MaginaryWorld Stuff. I figured that would be easier to accept compared to the Mario Dream Cosmology due to just having more statements. That said, I also agree with the idea that outside of niche statements, for all intents and purposes they're mostly the same and thus isn't a deciding factor.
 
Huh... first time reading a G1 blog and while I mostly skimmed... it was actually like... fairly handled? Yeah, they didn't buy into the crazy scaling for Sonic but they gave pretty insane respect to both parties, and I'm actually surprised they argued Eggman had the stat advantage.

It is a little funny that it seemed like Eggman had a huge chunk of advantages but Bowser ended up winning the votes. Without his wife, Eggman just can't match Bowser's charm.
 
Yeah, I just commented what stood out to me at a glance, but they went DEEP with this research. Not done reading it yet onviously
 
I'm surprised they discounted Chronicles, solely because Death Battle has a habit of allowing that kind of material. (Most obvious of cases being Star Wars and it's now totally non-canon Legends material, but even recently in the form of SSJ for Bardock V Omni-Man and JJBA: EoH for Joker V Giorno.) I point this out because I think it's fair to say Chronicles gives Eggman a good leg up via Chao Attacks, items like Immunity Idol, more mind manip layer arguments, etc. I don't know if it would be game changing, but I do think it's worth noting.

A small one but him getting any stat advantage surprised me as well. On that note I wish they brought up the colours space ships because it would be interesting to see how they interpret the across the universe statement.

Mario and Sonic both got equal leeway for this, so at least they're being consistent with both. They try to give both combatants roughly equal leeway give or take.
 
I def would have made some changes and they did get some details wrong, but overall the blog did its job selling me as the mu being closer and convincing me Eggman does really need the speed advantage, I just think he has it so, he should win.

Yeah, I'm with you there, and I don't want to get any hopes up, but I expect Death Battle to give it to him. That being said, even with speed equalized, Eggman's side still has better speed amps, and so far I didn't see them bring up Power Cores anywhere

They did bring up the Power Cores, but they're under the belief the stat amps Eggman and Bowser have are comparable. The main factor the Cores give (according to the Blog) is immunity to technopathy, which means the Koopa Kingdom doesn't have too solid a means to really nullify the whole Eggman Empire like some would think Kamek or King Boo could do. And that's ignoring how the Eggman Empire is just simply vastly more advanced than anything they've ever demonstrated affecting (something also noted in the Blog).

I agree with this logic. Ultra Sonic powered from the Super Emerald is more powerful than the ones powered by the Power Rings. Adding onto how through that same power source (not through a biological transformation like SSJ Blue) we see Sonic go from Super to Ultra Sonic, it's reasonably to see that Ultra Sonic should be greater than Super Sonic.

Regarding why Sonic transformed into Super Sonic instead of Ultra Sonic in obtaining the Super Emeralds, at the time they tried to mirror the release of Sonic Adventure 1 within Super Sonic and the Chaos boss fight since Sonic Adventure 1 came out at the time.

In lore however, given how Sonic transformed into Super first and Ultra second with a singular Super Emerald, it's not illogical to say that with all Seven, the same thing would happen making Ultra Sonic > Super Sonic.

Hard disagree in some aspects. There are genuine credible details regarding Cosmology and how the Verse works that came form his statements where it has something of merit. Other comments like the Kid Goku response (amongst other things) should flat out be ignored.

Take example the links down below:



We see Ian Flynn agree that Ultra Sonic is greater than Super Sonic but he views in a more naïve powerscaling manner along with a narrative one along with explain why the Super Emeralds made Sonic transform into Super Sonic instead of Ultra Sonic (editorial issues). As such, there are some things he says that have merit while others that do not.

Dear God you are very aggressive about the Archie Continuity. What happened? I mean, as an Archie fan, I disagree with some of your perspectives regarding the verse (like ignoring his Plot Manipulation and how Game Sonic negates the Archie Sonic's 1 Billionth Ring), but based off of previous replies, you seem very fed up with the verse and people arguing for the verse. As such, I'd like to hear why you believe and say these things about Archie fans.
