If the arguement is a parallel timeline needs it OG timeline to exist after the divergence in time and events were made, I'm not entirely sure there is anything to support that. Because after the divergence it becomes its own thing, or else Zeno destroying the timeline explicitly in the manga would have also destroyed the main time line as a result since they are linked by Trunks changing time by going back to warn Goku and Co.

Divergences can happen for any given reason, so it's not unreasonable to say Trunks timelime got destroyed but there were still diverging timelines that happened for whatever reason before the events of the Goku Black arc that Trunks and Mai could be taken to.

I dunno, I'm not a timeline expert.

Yes, but that different timeline cannot exist without altering the history of Trunks and Mai's original timeline. The two are not mutually exclusive, the the former requires the latter to even exist; creating a parallel world requires one to travel back in time and rewrite history.

in braching timelines like this the destruction of the said branch wouldn't necessarily affect the "main" one unless the verse treats it that way

With quote on quote countless divergences timelines, possibilities are nigh endless. So the requirement of traveling into the past being what creates a diverging timeline doesn't really disprove my point.

A timeline that diverged from Trunks' by someone traveling back into the past, one before the Goku Black arc, could feasibly exist.

Diverging timelimes can still exist after the main one is destroyed. The one positive we do know is that, or else the main timeline would've been destroyed as a result of Zeno destroying Trunks' timelime.

We know rewriting history via time travel is how parallel worlds are created, and we know that Whis offered to help Future Trunks and Mai safely relocate into the past of their world. Ergo, the likeliest and simplest explantation is that they revisited their world, went back in time, thus rewriting history and creating a branching timeline. That is the only way said parallel world could be created based off of our available knowledge.

Yeah, which happens in both Anime and Manga, despite the entire Timeline having been even more explicitly busted via Time Ring visual.

But it also should be noted that Beerus created an alternate Timeline without any Time Travel shenanigans by attempting to break the loop, as well. As if he had not tried to kill Zamasu, no new Timeline would have been made there despite having had events already change from their “path” due to Trunks’ and Black’s interference with the past.

Edit: (Which imo lends credibility to his claim of Gods affecting Time differently from Mortals, which is touched on and confirmed in the Anime.)

I’m not disagreeing, here, but the logic is time traveling in itself creates a branch.

However, it is noted that the “new branch” (in question) was only created when Beerus tried to snipe Zamasu from the past—This is explicitly noted. So if he literally didn’t do that, despite the time travel, that branch would not be created.

Thus, there is some extra circumstance going on that allows additional branch creation outside of the inherent one created by Time Travel.

I'm baffled,

It's a long story, it reasonably should be but there was a ton of stonewalling and the debate lasted so long everyone just got tired of it. Most other powerscaling circles see it as a pretty cut and dry higher dimension but by our standards it's this wierd also 2A structure that has a ton of higher dimensional qualities but don't think about those its only 2A.
