I remember there being an old Legend of Zelda calc that involved Ganon creating an endless night, the result was 642.3 Zettatons of TNT (Planet level), based on the assumption that Ganon had completely locked the Earth in place, preventing it from rotating.

Is it the same size as Earth? How much snow is falling from the clouds, how many extra clouds were created, and what's the temperature of the planet during the storm? There are a lot of variables that could increase the energy output of the feat.

We don't know that since the feat was only mentioned by a character who can see the future. But the character who was going to create the endless night can create snowstorms of this magnitude just by existing, and his presence can freeze water and extinguish Dragonfire, which can melt stone and metal and turn steel into ashes
