example is a verse is heavily inspired in other verse but has diferent history character cosmology and was licensed still a fan fiction or not

Given your example is already rather detailed, do you have any particular verses in mind? I would need to know what's meant by "heavily inspired".

parts of the histoy in a superficial way

That is vague. It feels like you're trying to obfuscate which verse this is...

Well, you can be based on something as long as you sufficiently differentiate from it. Gravity Falls is based on Twin Peaks, for example.
But... 8 bit theater isn't allowed for obvious reasons.
we see that also gravity fall is based in twin peaks well every day we learn something no matter how dumb and insinificant

He doesn't want to admit he made this thread due to eight bit theater being deleted for being fanfiction. Basically should a series be allowed if it rips off the history, character designs, character traits, and abilities from another franchise. The answer was no, his arugment was it becomes very different from the main series as it goes on and as it's been pointed out that just makes it an alternate universe fanfiction story.

ironically has more far more in similar With DnD but i will make it after the inmigrations

Based heavily on something?

Like how dragonball is based on journey to the west iirc (Which I've never read so I wouldn't know, I just heard about it)

Or how quite a few mechs are basically gundam clones.

Several korean manga are very closely related to HxH.

That kind of stuff?

8BT is technically different with all of it's character changes.

But in reality, it's mostly just a comedic version of Final Fantasy. The plot is generally the same as Final Fantasy except the characters keep ******* it up.

No more like having final fantasy characters, final fantasy history, final fantasy art, final fantasy events ect.
the history is different also the character and the art style is not a problem because

1:Free use

2:RvB has the same thing and is accepted because is licensed even when 8BIT also his

eh

wouldn't exactly call Black Mage, Red Mage, Thief, and Fighter as 'Final Fantasy characters'

They're like completely different.

The plot is overall still the same and the art is yeah.

It's pretty much an abridged series and we don't exactly allow those.

Red vs blue was discussed and unlike eight bit theater it doesn't ape its story from a preexisting franchise. Fair enough on the characters being different though.

If this isn't about 8 bit theater then name the verse
Give us a name Livinmeme, ultimately we have to judge this stuff on a case-by-case basis.

Simple answer:

8-Bit Theater is basically an abridged series.

We don't allow abridged series.

also RvB and 8BIT has a diferent story also why exaclty is a abrigaded series

The name of the verse/story would help with this problem as it's easier to verify.

the abridged series is completelly based in something else who is not allowed here 8BIT only takes things superficial really the most bigest thing that is not superficial is maybe the names

no

So are you admitting that you were lying about this and you were referring to 8-Bit Theater the whole time?

the ligth warrios try to save the word but accidentelly destroy things and exticts animals is more complex that that but yeah

he said that a summary of the history and then i give him

Then what verse are you talking about in the original post? Telling us will help with the discussion.

also not only popularity is worth to be accepted in wiki standards because 8bit was extremely popular

I think a more apt question is what about verses that involve fanfic, but all fanfiction is relugated to background characters.

Mangas actually do this quite a bit, especially comedic ones.

This seems like a case by case basis situation, we've gone over eight bit theater and it was considered outside our standards, this isn't a question about another verse or examining whether something should be added. Its simply livinmeme trying to overturn the previous decision
